Me and my friend were there for about 4 or 5 hours. It's an incredible place and the yeoman warders give such a good tour ! Did you notice that of the White Tower, three corners are square and the fourth is circular ;) weird huh There's also a bit that was rebuilt (rebricked) after it was bombed in the war. Very lovely piece of history Love your channel !

Hiya. Actually, the original crown jewels were lost, supposedly, by King John in 1216. He was travelling from Lincolnshire to Norfolk (taking them with him, as you do) and while moving across the boggy Wash, they sank into the marshes. Like sandbars, the marshlands of the Wash move or at least used to, so the jewels have never been recovered. It is estimated they would be worth upwards of $70,000,000 today. All the best to you.

@@RenataPereiraTV My pleasure, I think they came from a region which is now in Germany. They had occupied the area about 150 years before they invaded England, having absorbed the French language and some customs. The English had marched to meet them for 4 days without stopping immediately after defeating a large Viking army in the north. Had they paused for a day before attacking they probably would have won. It was not long before the English invaded and took Normandy. :-)

After the Romans withdrew, Celts from Britain moved into the area to seek refuge from the Anglo-Saxon invaders of the 5th and 6th centuries. It is from this event that Brittany derives its name. Over the next 300 years the Celts were converted to Christianity by missionaries from the British Isles.

Your opening remark is not quite correct. In 1066 Normandy and the Norman's weren't strictly part of France. The clue is in the name "Normans" they were descended from Viking norsman. The duchy of Normandy shared the same outline as the old ecclesiastical province of Rouen that the Carolingian rulers could not defend against the Breton and Viking attacks. In 911, Charles the Simple, king of France, granted land to a Scandinavian leader called Rollo around the city Rouen in exchange for assistance against other Viking leaders.
