I was jamming with Tower of Power back in my youth, smoking and jam'n and your right they are the baddest horn section that ever reeded up!!!! You could not have said that any better. I seen them Live at Santa Barbra College in Santa Barbra, CA and when I walked in there was enough smoke in the place to walk on... It was one of the baddest concerts and horn section I have ever heard for back in the 70's

This is MUSIC. I gave up on the RnR HOF parade when they inducted rap into the criteria. As we all know that is angry poetry, not music. Also all that entered prior to TOP (and others like Doobies, Little Feat, Los Lobos, Spirit, Fixx, PR & Raiders, William Clarke, Steve Miller and so forth) have further been discredited by this lame bogus organizations criteria. They actually inducted Nat King Cole. hahahahahaha. It is actually better not to be noticed by the inane induction committee.

Mimi said he doesn't solo much for one good reason - he's not very good at it. I run a TOP cover band, and happen to play the 2nd tenor part also. Like Mimi, I'm not a soloist. I can plan the charts in from of me and run the band. I hire solo guys to blow the walls down. There was a version of Knock Yourself Out (maybe from Live in Living Color) where all the horn traded 4's, including Mimi. However, it was a pretty short thing.
