This was filmed close to my house. It was called High Marnham Power Station. It was a controlled demolition by a private company. Hundreds of people were watching it, these guys most likely got permission to film inside the exclusion zone. I was stood on a nearby viaduct watching it; you could feel the blast from a kilometre away!

Ok. Since it's obvious some people don't understand how this video came to be, allow me to put forward my best hypothesis: Yes, it was very legal. First Gavin heard of a local demolition project, in which these cooling towers were slated for demolition. Then Gavin thought "I should catch that in slow mo for our channel", so he called up the demolition crew, and, being amicable people who most likely get requests like Gavin's all the time, they agreed. Then on the day of the demolition, Gavin drove out to the site, they the crew greeted him, gave him some safety gear, and told him the safest place to film from. They were then apparently nice enough to communicate with Gavin to ensure that he had his shot when they pulled the trigger. That is all.

I live in Didcot which is where this was filmed and this is certainly true. There would've been a lot of communication between Gavin and the demolition crew because the council had originally made a statement that the towers would come down at 1 am but they ended up coming down at nearly 5.30

Anonym 1 When you compare it to the damage caused by fossil fuels, especially coal (Germany's #1 source of electricity), it IS irrational. But sure, go on to cite two accidents who you're very afraid of and know nothing about, AND on top of that offer no comparison which to asses the damage. That screams irrational fear to me. In reality though, even the worse nuclear accidents PALES in comparison to fossil fuels' both short-term and long-term effects all on their own. Not only that, but Chernobyl and Fukushima were absolutely retarded accidents with ancient technology (with current technology, these accidents would have NEVER happened), blatantly negligent oversight (our aim should be to REMOVE human input and complement it with extremely redundant machines), and it'd have never reached that level had it been PROPERLY and proactively contained quickly. They both failed miserably though. Chernobyl because the country was falling apart and they decided to ignore the signs MONTHS before it happened, and Fukushima because TEPCO are a bunch of lying sacks of shit who should be put in jail. But to pretend we will live in a world WITHOUT nuclear energy is nothing sort of retarded. We NEED nuclear energy if we want to keep our standards of living for a long time to come. At this moment though, Germany is absolutely retarded for shutting down their reactors purely based on emotions. But then again, this is coming from the country who said "everyone is welcome" to the entirety of Africa and the Middle-East, no "background check" required, and then went on to complain when the masses from some of the most backwards countries on earth came and they DIDN'T behave as they expected (oh gee, I wonder why!). So, what I'm trying to say here is that they're not really the "brightest" light-bulb around.
