Awesome applications and principles, Sensei! Bravo!

I, too, appreciate the excellent application of principles. And I enjoy practicing Pinan Yondan in my own humble way. But in watching these bunkai, I kept observing multiple times that the assault could have very likely have been countered more immediately and with less risk of self defense failure (in light of almost certain adrenaline rush, other potential assailants standing nearby, sweaty/slippery hands/arms, sleeveless assailant, etc.) with serious kick to groin, ankle, or knee; with fist to throat/nose/chin, with thumb/fingers to eyes; with knee and elbow strikes; with straight-forward boxing punches when hands are free; or with other simple and low-risk moves. Plus, an attacker worth his salt is not going to leave an arm hanging out there for the defender to grab and manipulate as attacker does in several of these attacks. Nor is he after grabbing going to fail to launch immediately with head-butt, knees, etc. In these vids, tori grabs and then just goes all passive to politely allow uke to do his thing. Why complicate things (admittedly beautifully) unnecessarily? Why train in self defense on the assumption that attacker is so lame? Asked in all respect to your obvious karate excellence and with some understanding of all hard work invested over many years to achieve same.

He is explaining the self defense application for each movement of the Heian Yondan Kata. That doesn't mean that in a real life situation you'd go through the entire Kata when you had to defend yourself. The seem to have misunderstood the purpose of the video. It wasn't to teach you how to best defend yourself with the least amount of energy expended, it was to show how each and every movement in the Kata can and does have a self defense application. In a real situation you might react with any one technique of these Bunkai without going through all the preceding motions, like a parry and a kick to the groin as you suggested. Knowing all of these tells you that it's not in vain that we train the kata, and ultimately gives you options so you can respond appropriately if the situation ever presents itself.

In the start, poorly done video in that the kAWtAW part is not shown first for reference to the bunkai theory being shown. It got better.

Too awkward in your movements. The founders would not set up a system that was awkward. I suggest looking at iain abernethy
