Hi Andy, that is a nice set of video's you have put up for the Pinan series. Just a quick comment on this particular kata (Pinan Sandan). I would point you to a great article written by Jesse called "funakoshi's 9 throws" as I think that would shed some light on the last two sequences and may add an additional flavour to your Pinan Sandan Interpretation..Thanks for posting, I like your pragmatic approach.

Hi, and thanks for you kind comments. I am aware that many people like to use the moves in kata to produce throws, and that these are very affective interpretations for these moves. The ones I have included in these videos are the ones I personally prefer, purely as I find them simpler to apply. The videos were made more to encourage people to explore kata, to try and think more about what kind of attacks they may face in the real world, and how kata can help them in their training for this. I find simple is best.

Who taught you those bunkais? What you show is totally wrong. ... In all countries, the authority must supervise the teaching of karate, and close down, where appropriate, the Mcdojos of phonies like this one; and fine them heavily for the fraud they commit.
