Waylon, I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for you to let that truck go. 1972 is a long time ago now. I sure appreciate your videos. I don’t comment much anymore. I just turned seventy five but still messing with cars and trucks. Please attend to your health and keep motivated. I live in Mississippi so you are one of us. Best wishes and Gods blessings to you and your loved ones.

As I aged I reduced my cars and parts down and now all I have is the memories. Comes to a time in life where a person realizes they can’t take care of everything. I feel your sadness watching them go. Love your videos and the fantastic content.❤️👍👍

Ken, thanks again for another nice heart-felt video.. congrats on being able to let go of your old friend Fred. I've done similar, and it is always best when the next owner will take the vehicle to the next level and take care of it, etc...

Sad to part with meaningful items Ken but available time starts to be a major consideration eventually. That V12 pickup was a real treat, thanks for bringing it to our attention. My helpers all grew up and moved away so I have been a one man band for years. Forces a fella to get creative while working alone. Sorry to see old Fred go down the road. He's been a big part of the channel all along. Speaking of old trucks, a 46 Chevy grain truck with 36K original miles might be coming my way.

My grandfather had a 52 ton and half he passed in 66 I was 4 my dad used the old truck on the farm till 69 when hurricane camille came though central Virginia. My dad had been on the low grounds baling hay the evening before the flood he went to come up the hill to the house for the night and the old truck would not start it was getting pretty worn by then so he drove the old john deer a home . Well camille came in the night catching most everyone by surprise lots of people in and around Nelson co albemarle co and on down james river lost lives and property in including that old truck . Took us 2 weeks to find it but dad cleaned it up and got it running changed all fluids but even with all that everything on it froze up so it finally got sold for scrap.

Hey, I've watched paint dry. Watching you spray weeds is WAY MORE ENTERTAINING! 😁😁 @6:30... I think that should be a 207 Cu In engine. The 216 did debut in 1937. Man, Connecticut is a long way to pull 6,300 pounds, with a bumper pull trailer and a V-6!!! But, I know that trailer has brakes, so they should make it just fine. I mean, he made it out of your driveway, barely! I wonder what kind of gas mileage he got? 4MPG?
@1963impala2drWaylonWire
@1963impala2drWaylonWire 5 ай бұрын
the 207 is the later bored version of the 194 which is in my rockabilly. it is a much smaller block than the 216 which is in his car. 235 would have been better because of the pressurized oiling system but the babbit bearing 216 is still an upgrade for this old 34

And Twentynine more vehicles not to mention six motorcycles and six snowmobiles and a bunch of other stuff. The love of old iron can weigh you down!! Hope you're feeling better. 👍

That had to tug on the feelings a li'l bit...you've had a relationship with Fred longer than some folk's have been married (no offense meant)! You were a good steward, how else would someone spend a decade trying to get Fred - they knew they were getting a good deal. And cousin Baylon's got some neat stuff in his storage; I can't wait to see more of his rat rod and '37 Chevy on his channel. Take care of yourself, and see you next time.👍

I've always been scared of those high setting trailers with big loads on them and the possibility of the load breaking loose in a quick stop or crash situation where the tow truck gets smashed flat by the shifting load. I've seen it happen twice and it isn't pretty.
