If your truck had daytime running lights on your old mirrors, your new ones should do the same. As for Jerry rigging the mirror for daytime running, I have no idea and don't wanna lead you down a wrong path.

@@bigskreet6928 if your puddle lights work with your factory mirrors now you will need the mirrors that come with a 22 pin connector. If the puddle lights on your existing mirrors don't work then your truck is not wired from the factory for puddle light and the new mirrors, even though they will have puddle lights, they still will not work. Like my truck in the video. If you truck has existing working puddle lights you will need new mirrors thay come with a 22 pin connector. Hope that helps.

Hey Frank--great Vid! Knowing my luck, I would most def drop that nut down the door panel, no matter how careful I was. I would use painters tape of something to cover that gap. Just an idea for your viewers who may be doing this as well!

I've had a 2016 f150 xl supercrew since new. Year before last my wife wanted to buy a used camper so we could take our young grandkids out camping. We settled on a one owner 24ft we found on facebook and met the guy halfway which was about 100 miles. Didnt think about the width of the trailer and coming home I couldn't see anything behind us so I couldnt even change lanes. We live off a crooked narrow street with a creek on the other side of the road. It took what seemed like forever to manipulate that thing into our driveway. So yeah,tow mirrors got bought and installed. It was different as night and day going down the road and although my driveway is still tough,its easier being able to see better.

I just installed these. With the directionals, only the two bright amber leds on the ends flash, not the two stripes. My 101a xl did not have any lights prior on the mirrors. Anything I need to do to get the stripes to flash too? Thanks!

The directional lights on the mirrors is not an LED strip. Its those 2 LED lights in a reflective groove to make it appear its a full strip of LEDs. At night the full strip will appear to be lite up when you use the directional.

@@BanginGearsGarage i appreciate the reply. Mine still doesn’t appear the same as yours. The two leds flash at the ends and are bright, but even at night, it doesn’t fill those two strips. Those two strips appear to be the clearance or running lights and when looking at the wire diagram, have a separate unused wire. I may try to splice and combine with the directional.

Another tip would be to stuff a rag or tissue into the space below the lower nut to prevent the nut from falling into the door trim panel.

I have had no issues at all. Quality is great, little to no vibration and zero whistling. Been through countless truck washes and am always extending and folding them. Not one issue.

Great DIY video. I'm about to click on that magic "Buy It Now" button after a close call yesterday. Losing a nut in the door - have to say after pulling a mirror off for repair on my now gone F350 - dropping that nut down into the door, it's gone forever with all the claptrap in the door. A replacement nut from the local hardware store is the fix. Of course. pulling the door off and turning over would work too but not an easy option nor cost effective🤒 Edit: Mirrors arrived and installed. Probably took longer to find a good 4" 1/4" drive extension then to do the install. Just wish I had the 22 pin truck with all the functions as my F350 had but that was a Lariat and this is an XLT. Life goes on without all the bells and whistles

Its explained at the 3:50 time code in the video..... they run the puddle lights, axillary lights, lane warning and clearance indicators. My truck trim level (XLT) dosen't have those, so there're not used.

Great video. I wish I could find the mirrors that fit my truck which is a 2016 FX4 lariat with the cameras in the bottom of the mirror for the 360° view. Plus it has all the other features as well. I can’t seem to find that mirror set part number.

Great question. Unfortunately no is the answer. With the 8 pin set up the tow mirrors lights only work in conjunction with the trucks turn signals. So they flash when you activate/deactivate the alarm and flash when you use your turn signals and hazzard 4 ways. Its my understanding that if your truck is an 8pocs from the factory those are all the features your truck would have anyway. If your truck was a 22 pin from the factory you would have the other features like day time running , puddle lights and on at night. If short the tow mirrors don't bring and new features that your stock mirrors didn't have already.... beside the wider field of view and being telescopic. Hope that answers your question even though it might not be the answer that you wanted. I'm sure you can "Rig" something up with the wiring to get those features out of the 8pin system but not what this video is about.

Theses are the exact same mirrors I just put on my truck a couple weeks ago. But on the turn signals, I only have the two rear facing led’s flashing and not the two strips like yours .!Wonder why? I really want it all flashing.

The 2 rear leds are part of the foward strips. You have to have them. If you don't, then the leds are not working properly, I'd return them for another set.

The strips are one of the four extra wires and is labeled auxilary lights and encouraged me to seek professional help in wiring them and the other features. Correct. My truck was not wired from FORD to have the mirror light on with the running lights. Mine, also only are on with the turn signals and flash with the hazard lights. Anything the truck turn signals do that mirror lights do.

I’d like to install tow mirrors on my 2020 F150 but I’m hearing of potential issues with the/a temperature sensor. Assuming that senses the outside temperature that displays on the screen in the truck. Do you know anything about this or how to confirm that I do indeed have temperature sensors on my stock mirrors? Also with that being said, if there’s any issues will that cause issues with the computer in the truck?

Great Question! Your stock outside temp sensor is in the passenger side mirror of your truck. The New tow mirrors will have one in the passenger side mirror as well, and will connect directly to the truck with the provided wiring harness the new tow mirrors come with. I have also heard about this complaint and have frequently compared the temp reading in the truck to my phone and it have been spot on and have not had any issues with incorrect temp readings in the truck with the new tow mirrors. @@WhatsThatBeats Its really based on your trucks trim package. 8 Pin is Mirror defrost, power mirror adjustment and turn signals/ flashers. the 22 Pin system is all I listed above and puddle lights, side objects sensors, power folding mirrors and a few others. I have a 2020 XLT and mine is a 8 pin system. Simply put....If you DO NOT have puddle lights under your stock mirrors that you have an 8 pin. if you do have puddle lights you are a 22 pin. Or you can just remove the inside plastic mirror cover and confirm what pin you have as the connector will be right there. BUT the mirrors I have attached to the like com wired with the 8 pin but also some with the 22 pin adapter, so really you are safe either way.

I've read in the forums that a truck with the temp sensor gives errors if we swap the mirror with one without the sensor. How long have you had these on your truck now? And any issues with the motors? I’ve been having issues and dealing with their customer service “top mirrors” has been pretty painful. When I get all the parts in, I’m thinking I’m going to fix them and sell them and order some from Boost Auto instead. Just wanted to see if anyone else had any issues. I think the customer service is my biggest turn off.

I've had them on the truck for over a year now with now issues. The only motors I have are to adjust the top mirror and had no issues. Mine are NOT power folding so I can't speak to issues with those motors.

@@BanginGearsGarage yeah, I’m talking about the motors for the upper glass. On day two of having these the motor on the drivers side quit. These mirrors are great, especially for the price. But I think where you save on these is lack of decent customer service. Just wanted to see if anyone else had motor issues. Sounds like they’re rare.

The only one I've heard of people having is that the temp meter in the pax mirror is not accurate and the display in the truck reads hotter or colder then it actually is oitside..... but I havet had that issue either. After hearing about it, I started to check it against the temp on my phone and its always been spot on. Sounds like you might of just gotten a bad pair.

I have a 2020 F150, installed the F250 Tow Mirrors. The Outside Temp sensor in the factory mirror is on the drivers side, the temp sensor in the Tow mirrors in the passenger side. After the install my Check Engine Light is ON because it is not sensing the Temp sensor now. Is there a Fix for this?

On my 2020 F150 the factory temp sensor is on the passenger side and so are the F150 aftermarket tow mirrors. I don't know of a fix for putting the F250 aftermarket tow mirrors of the F150. Whats the difference between the aftermarket F150 and F250 tow mirrors?

The plastic inside the door? You should be able to just grant and pull it off with a little force. If no you can always take a flat head screw driver and try EASILY prying it off.

@@buffalobmf It really depends on if the truck is wired to have lights at the mirrors just because your mirrors don't have the lights doesn't mean there's not a wire that coming off the turn signal that goes to the mirror I don't know what the manufacturing procedure is but the wires might be there but because it's not at the trim level where you would get a turn signal in the mirror the mirror does not have the turn signal I honestly don't know
