Can we talk about those pattern weights 🤩 Seriously love them! How could I get my hands on a pair? I'm absolutely loving the details in these tutorials! Helps me feel informed about the decision and steps I'm taking with my sewing. The absolute best thing for me!!!! Can't thank you enough!!!!

I'm so glad to hear that, I also love information and knowing why I'm doing the things I'm doing (or should be doing)! As for the weights they're available on Amazon amzn.to/3YXJzpn or depending on where you're located there may be a patternmaking supply store nearby and they'll definitely have them!

So fun! I’m heading out shortly to my local fabric store to buy my supplies to make two Town Bags - one for me and one for my best friend’s birthday. The sew-along couldn’t have come at a better time! 😍

You never mentioned how the marks get through the paper pattern to the fabric.

Apologies! I punch a hole in the pattern using an awl at each of the match points. Then at 7:16 you can see me mark them with a chalk pencil. Hope that helps!

My outside pocket fabric is directional. Should I cut and seam it before cutting the pocket out or after?
@GrainlineStudioSewing Жыл бұрын
Ooh excellent question. In that case you can do that, but I would only recommend doing that if you have a very heavy duty sewing machine. You're going to have to sew through 3 layers of canvas plus a French seam to create the gusset at the bottom of the bag and any additional seams will add more bulk.

I just realized you said before or after, I would seam it before if you can otherwise you'll need to add seam allowance to the cut edge. Other than that either is fine

@@GrainlineStudioSewing forgot to tell you, the pocket is cotton BUT it will be interfaced So I will have the layers. For the first bags, it sounds like I am going back to the drawing board. No problem. 😀

@@donnaf4271 Ah yeah okay, sorry about that! It'll be worth it though, I promise
