The closures of the reserves is to protect their elders and speakers. Because of reservation schooling, whole generations of children could not understand or speak their own language and had lost a large portion of their culture. As the heart of their community, elders and speakers are invaluable, so they do not put them at risk. Personally, I take such measures as positive that people are upholding their civic duty and being responsible towards others in this period of crisis. Beautiful country. Enjoy yourself and stay safe!

I just picked up a 2020 Transit van. It's taken a week to get it insured because it's a one ton hd. Erie insurance had no problems with my plan to make it a camper van. Whoo hoo!

660 am, is the radio station that you probably were picking up. It's a good Navajo or Dine' station based out of Window Rock...on the "Rez." At night, I can often pick it up way over in So.California. Good traditional Native American music & old school country is what they mostly play.

Was surprised you didn't park while it was lighter out. Scary when you can't see the immediate area better. But the view was amazing! Seems that native lands aren't welcoming folks due to Covid. Can't say that I can blame them.

The Public Lands app and offline maps can assist you in determining whether you are on Public or private land. I've used it many times. Also use the offline maps to find my way back (it usually shows roads of many types) when I did not have cell service.

One of our favorite places, if you are in a RV you want to come in from the east like you did, the west entrance has some steep washes.

I’ve been through a lot of Utah but it seems there are always new places to discover. I think Utah is the most beautiful state hands down. But of course you have to be a fan of the desert which I know you are. Monument Valley is sensational and is best seen coming down from the north, IMHO.

Great video, but IMO ( I know, essentially worthless) it would be far better without the elevator music. I know everybody wants their video to be a full sensory treat but the beautiful visuals in yours are diminished by the crappy sounds we endure. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it otherwise.
