That I'm not *just* a gamer, but a *girl* gamer, and along with this distinction comes all of the traits people assign to what a girl version of a gamer is. It reminds me that I'm not the type of person who belongs in gaming, not the type of person who's meant to feel accepted when you use terms like "boys" and "brother". So to answer your question, I do get a bit bothered when people call me brother because at worst I feel outcast, and at best it feels like I’m an exception to a weird gender rule of gaming/gaming circles. I don't blame people for using this kind of language- hell, I say dude/bro all the time. It’s such a widespread thing and a hard habit to break. I don’t expect it to change really. That being said, I super appreciate when people make the effort to unlearn the gendered language as Shadow is doing in the video, because it’s an effort to make people who don’t identify as a man feel respected and included in a male-dominated space. I'm a bit confused, so your both right? Does that mean you get given a mafia role based on when you join the lobby? Like say mafioso is the earliest joining lobby member assigned to mafia. If so does that mean you're more likely to be the consort the earlier you join?

The" who joined the lobby first" only applies when either A.) multiple consorts or B.) Specific situations where theres multiple mafia members but no mafioso. Imagine a game with 1 Mafioso and 1 BMer as the only mafia and both of them die. Now suppose there are 3 Amne's who all remember BMer the following night, now boom theres 3 BMers but no mafioso, so the amne that joined the lobby first will become a mafioso. The TLDR is Consort will be promoted first, then from there its random (afaik - if it isnt it might as well be random for gameplay purposes)
