The Bronco is so impressive off-road as used straight off the lot with no upgrades. If you are serious off-road though you will absolutely need the Badlands with Sasquatch package. These Broncos are amazing but the Gen 2’s that come out in the future will be even better since Ford will refine the design after the first few years of people work through the things that could be improved

It’s that the case with every new gen vehicle?
@ratkicker007
@ratkicker007 2 жыл бұрын
@@Merica79 yes that’s often true but it’s much more true in this case because the bronco is a purpose built off road vehicle to directly compete with wrangler. Most other vehicles are just road driving cars to take people from A to B so there isn’t much unknown about what dynamics, features and technology is needed to make a successful road driving car. But entry to the off road market involves more risk and unknown and therefore will have much more rooom for improvement in a gen 2. Especially since the bronco includes new design for fully independent front suspension, turbo engine, frameless doors and many other features not yet established strongly in the off road community. Jeep has solid front axle, most off road jeeps are naturally aspirated gas although they recnentky introduced turbo and diesel options, and jeeps have framed doors. All I’m saying is the gen 2 will be a big leap for the bronco because ford will have feedback from all the users about how many of these features last over time.

3 things. That’s sandstone interior, not navy pier. Badlands doesn’t come standard with 33” MT. They’re only available with the optional wheel shown. Standard is 33” KO2’s. And wildtrak has standard 2.7L V6 where badlands has both engines and transmissions.

Quick disconnects or anti rock bar will probably be available for the Bronco so a disconnecting ARB isn’t really that huge of a deal considering you can defeat it easily and likely more reliably. Like auto locking hubs vs manual. This is coming from a Rubicon owner that has also disconnected their ARB on previous vehicles manually. Sure it’s nice, but when mine fails I’ll delete it via my tazer and just throw some quick disconnects on. Wish it had locking hubs instead of the FAD as well.

Like I commented on your Squatch/non-Squatch video, the Badlands comes standard with BFG KO2 AT tires (285/70 R17) with non-beadlock machined aluminum wheels. GY Wrangler Territory MT tires with beadlock wheels, like in your video, are optional. Wildtrak comes standard with the 2.7L engine whereas Badlands comes standard with the 2.3L engine. Likewise, Wildtrak comes standard with the 10-speed automatic whereas Badlands comes standard with the 7-speed manual. Wildtrak comes standard with cloth seats whereas Badlands comes standard with mgv seats. Both trim packages have optional leather seats. Wildtrak comes standard with the mid package whereas Badlands comes standard with the standard package. Both optionally allow for the high and lux packages.

Since thats standard on the wildtrak - would you recommend going wildtrak + lux package, or stay with the outerbanks and add Sas? that way you get the mirrors and door handles color matched, but you get the lift and plastic fender flares. The front bumper, bash plates, rock rails and seats on the WT you are showing are all upgrades. WT has sandstone - not navy pier - but it does have the non-matching blue interior accents for some unknown reason. WT = fugly interior, no sta-bar disconnect, no wash out, no rock rails or tube step, less undercarriage armor. As configured, the two you have shown are both ~59k assuming they are Lux interior. -sure leather would drive up the BL but then you lose the washout. What is the advantage of Wildtrak over a squatched Badlands? I'm not seeing it.

You don’t need “Rock Crawl” mode to do any “rock crawling”. Just put it in 4Lo & 1st gear and go to town. The one major mode to be concerned with is Baja, it minimizes/turns off most/ all of the built in safety mechanisms and remaps throttle, brake and transmission control for high speed joy😃

@@skyfirefly76 Sport mode is for spirited on-road driving, sport mode increases throttle response and provides a sportier steering feel - along with quicker shifting. The transmission holds gears longer to keep you in the power band. My 2019 Raptor has it and I use it when someone in a sports car pulls up next to me and gives me the eye. ;-)

sway bar- and IFS is very limited compared to a solid axle. Even with a disconnected or removed swaybar, you will not get nearly the articulation that you can get with a solid axle. That said an IFS vehicle will go many places, but its not as ideal wheen wheeling in areas with large ledges and rocks. Looks like you guys went on some pretty easy trials there.

I find the aftermarket disconnect on my FJ Cruiser is more about comfort on the "pre-trail" than actual trail performance. It allows the IFS to eat up some of the bigger potholes without compromising steering.

the stay/sway bar is cool and all. honestly though. I see it as a gemic. i would rather have a plane jane manual sway bar disconnect set-up. one less thing to break

That's pretty much what I was thinking about all new vehicles in general. With all the great bells and whistles come a time when they break. Most won't be cheap to fix. My 87 Wrangler is so basic even I can work on it but I still want one of these. The Big Bend with Sasquatch Package would fit my needs at $47k. Too rich for my blood but I can still dream.

@@TCcustoms_ I wish I could've seen/tried it in person before I ordered. I went with a WT, in part based on the fact that I was iffy on the MGV. It wasn't the only factor, but it could've swayed me toward the BL.
