In downtown Winnipeg, Eatons is gone, the Bay is gone, Portage Plaza is gone. Yet, the apartment I used to rent for under $300 a month is now at least $2000 per month.

Didn't bother to mention that good movies weren't being made anymore to show there.

My First "Real Paycheque" Job was working in this place as an usher. Not a lot of benefits - all the popcorn you could eat (always better the day after), all the soda you wanted, and free movies (as long as you weren't a hog about it). It was always interesting to do "security checks" in Cinema 1 and Cinema 2 when movies like "Caligula" and "Prison Girls" were being shown LOL. I recall HATING being the first crew for the Saturday matinee---always had to clean Cinema 8 which played "Rocky Horror Picture Show" continuously (wet newspaper and rice - if you know, you know). Good times! Sad to see it go

Been going to this theatre since I was a kid. A lot of places I’ve been going as a kid have been closed down all except Salisbury house. There’s no point living in winnipeg anymore breh lol.

put the homeless in there, comfy place to do drugs and they can make popcorn and watch movies
