Not to mention in many states police will instantly impound any vehicle that has been involved in a high speed chase. That guy was running at almost twice the speed limit, so yeah it aint a surprise they impounded it, more so because she was in the car as well, so it was done as a punishment. As to his reason for running, thinking he had a warrant, honestly thinking that means he's been on the wrong side of the law one too many times.

The "I didn't do anything wrong", quote gets so many people into trouble because they did do something wrong letting someone else drive their car and end up in trouble. The woman went WRONG by allowing an IDIOT to drive her car! I'm sure she'll THINK twice before allowing another person behind the wheel of her personal car. A bit of an expensive lesson LEARNT for sure! Just a small amount of sympathy for her, VERY small. A lesson I learned many decades ago when I was a teenager. (that one time was when there was a robbery suspect in the area and his vague description answered to my appearance to a tee, had to stay and wait for the store owner to be driven up and confirm that it wasn't me) People who see police and panic, have clearly done a lot of wrong things and fear this is the time karma comes knocking.

FYI to everyone if the battery in your key fob goes dead with some cars you use the end of the key fob and press the start button with it. Some cars will have a special slot in the Center Council war in the dash or around the dash area where you would just set the key fob in

Hey Johnny - sometimes when those fob batteries get low, they will still work if you put it in the slot for it, usually on dash. Given the rocket surgeons whose cars you're towing sometimes, might be a possibility. "I was just gonna replace my battery, see I got it right here!" "Amazon was just fixing' to deliver my new battery. I ordered it 15 months ago but those suckers wouldn't ship it until I paid for it."

You were supposed to hold the brake pedal down while pressing the ignition to get it to start. If the battery was dead and wouldn’t run the door locks, you can insert the fob in the dash by opening the glove box and look to the left of the storage tray against the dash where the cover was concealing it.
