I thought this was going to be a video on why tryhard is a dumb thing to insult people with. Trying to put people down for trying to win a strategy game by calling them 'tryhard' is dumb and just bad sportsmanship. Here, if you want to "use strategy" like you keep saying over and over to get better, than take these tips into consideration because you absolutely could have lost if your opponent had one of several competent pokemon... First off you let him get damage on your Tauros just because you didn't expect Thunderwave. Dont do that, you would have just lost the Tauros mirror because of that and gotten swept. Second idk what you were thinking with that Rhydon, some people switch in on Twave and go for body slam, but thats generally too risky, and not worth it anyway (Your Rhydon took so much damage that a Zapdos also would have swept you). And third as of the point im watching in this video, you stayed in with Chansey against that Weezing. Weezing Exploding on Chansey would be the most favorable trade of a life time, and you just let him have a chance to do it (you're lucky he was as bad as he was and didn't punish you for it)

Also, yeah- blaming losses on luck is kind of a textbook excuse. Even if true, which is unlikely in all or even most of your matches, you still have to know where you could have played better so luck doesn't become as much of a factor. Minimizing your opponent's opportunities to sack you and maximizing your opportunities to benefit from rng is a skill. The way you play can give increase or decrease the odds.

Being a tryhard isn't bad there isn't anything wrong with trying your hardest in anything, however if you need to play meta sets in order to win against OP sets like smokescreen weezing I don't think thats beeing a "tryhard" I think that's being cringe and bad but yeah you're sick at gen 1 pokemon with smogons ruleset :) congrats
