The BJ Penn fight is where it all came crashing down for Diego as far as his confidence. I remember watching that fight and being surprised to see Diego's ceiling so clearly. BJ's striking was so much better and Diego knew how bad was looking. He was never the same after.

the guy knows nothing about fighting. Hardening of the body is done at a young age when the body is able to repair itself a lot faster. The body develops tolerance to pain, but it doesn't mean that the body is not taking damage. Now a 40 year old like Diego has a body which is winding down. He needs to help his body recover after training or a fight with body therapy , sleep, good protein, and 0 anxiety. Diego was a wrestler that's his first instinct to take the fight down. For some damn reason the people who was coaching him led him to believe that he was a striker. that with the People's responds to his courage basically dictated the way that he was going to fight. And he basically abandoned his roots to become a striker. He absorbed unnecessary damage throughout his career.

Ever since Diego got with Fabia and we started seeing some of Fabia’s control cult leader type behavior with him, like being his entire management/ training staff, I was hoping and praying that he would wake up and get away from him. I’m very happy that Diego seems to be getting away from him now. I hope that he gets some REAL HELP now. Diego was never my favorite, but I did always like and respect his fighting ability despite his off the wall beliefs and behavior. He definitely deserves much better than to have his entire legacy sent down the drain by a weirdo control freak narcissist piece of trash like Fabia. Just want to wish Diego well and hope for the sake of us all that Fabia is on his way to being sent into oblivion.
