I love how he asked you to swap even though he died too at the start. In the end, you have done more healing and died less than he has. Classic toxic player. He probably just doesn't like Mercy as a character and doesn't want you to play her. You made the right call by muting him since some players don't do that because they think it's their duty to communicate with their teammates regardless of how unpleasant they are.

Their teammates were getting anti'd 24/7 and mercy/lucio needed to switch. Their team needed a kiriko and both of them refused to switch. Thats kinda how you throw comp games if you can't counter pick.

​@@Avxxy788 before a cleanse like Kiriko even existed Ana anti had been there forever. Sure her cleanse make some plays, but Ana is still picked 24/7 regardless. What do you think is the play here? Sure you are allowed to constantly swap when you are in spawn, but swapping is gonna happen continually by then. At that point it's just way too unproductive and unoptimal to even try. That's just how unfair Overwatch is made. Allow too much flexibility, and overtune heroes. Mercy/ Lucio is a problem? No you just don't outskill her skill expression (movement). Zenyatta is a problem? How about stop dying to corner headshots? Treat Zen like a Widow. After all, it's more about how you play with your team as a whole, hero choice make impacts but best players can get outplayed simply because they are discoordinated regardless of skill.

People who don't counter-pick 99% of the time lose the matches they get in because they don't understand that you can't just be good at a character and win. It's like playing Genji when there's a Zarya, Symmetra, Mei, and a Moira on the other team. Its just stupid to not switch regardless of skill level. It all depends on the circumstances. You can get carried through your ranks as a mercy 1 trick but it's highly unlikely because of how many bad players there are out there. There's a reason why certain players are in lower ranks or get games with golds/bronzes when they're plat/diamond. It's because of their mmr and they're around the same level of skill.

I got so much love and hate for playing her and usually got huge stats while getting hate lol. So many ppl would throw in the beginning just for me picking her even though I had like a 57 percent winrate, it ended up making me just feel like that mode was rigged lol.

It’s not just you. A lot of Lucios I’ve come across are really nasty and have this air of thinking they’re better than anyone else for playing him for some reason. I see it with Ana players a lot too (and I say that as someone with literally 500 hours on Ana lmao)

Nothing worse when you pick Mercy and then your other supports hard locks Lucio. They could either be the best support or the most toxic and will not play with the team. Either way Mercy will be flamed before Lucio if game is lost.

No it's not goofy at all! It's super frustrating when people are just deciding to be toxic and picking on someone for no particular reason/want to deflect attention away from themselves and how badly they're doing typically (that or they're a dick/misogynist). The games that frustrate me the most are when people are mean to me even when I know I'm doing fine and I then end up playing worse because it gets me upset. Best things to do is just mute that person and try and keep your head up and keep trying, listening to them only makes it worse and makes you feel like crap even though 99% of the time you're probably doing fine/even if you're making mistakes being rude never helps anything!

Literally thank you for what you said in the beginning. Im only bronze mercy and play on switch so tbh idk how to mute people but I had the best game in competitive where we all kicked butt right away and then I get into another match and the opposing team came out hardcore so I died and two guys on my team decided to start bashing me when literally they died just as much and I was doing my best to ignore them but it’s definitely distracting when people start to trash talk. Lol “delete the game” seems to be another fav line. It’s really annoying that some people are like this but I won’t let them ruin something I enjoy !

I recently had an incident where I picked mercy and immediately had my other 4 teammates tell me to “get off mercy now” turns out the guys girlfriend mains mercy so they expected me to switch, after I politely declined I had to endure a full ranked game with 4 people telling me to k**l myself and saying they hope I get in a serious accident or contract a terminal illness. I’ve since turned text chat off and have been much happier playing OW2 since then, we can’t control other people but we can control ourselves, be kind out there folks ❤️

Yeah, ppl do that stuff to me to but they won't tell me at all they want to play mercy or that they main her, I had a weird guy make fun of me for playing Mercy because she is "bad" but his mains was evenly split between mercy and lucio and then I had a mercy player try saying I'm bad and all that while playing moira and I told her politely that I let her play Mercy and think she sucks or something like that lol they told me to play kiriko and I said I don't play her, just moira and mercy. Another mercy main said that I was playing Mercy just to healbot because we don't have long range dps but she ended the game with like 1k damage as kiriko lol. This was all in very high rank lobbies to, like GM or top 500 area.

Your insights into mercy play and support play are part of why I am able to enjoy playing the game again. I approach each game focused on my tech and personal goals in a match. In we win, I am happy. If we lose. I am happy. I look at my assists, damage boost uptime, and low amount of deaths as my score rubric. If I have good metrics for those. I did my best. I also avoid chat in voice and type. I type a greeting and thank for the matcch, but stick to pings.

I don't know if you talked about them in another video, but I'm pretty excited to have the freedom of using GA more. At 13:18, you mentioned in the subtitling that you should be aware of whether your teammates could survive an encounter post res -- don't you think that falls more in the hands of the person you're reviving? If a positioning issue brought on by risky poking was what got them killed, they should instead reflect on that and take another path or play a bit safer. What do you think?

Met a few toxic people yesterday. Haven't meet them in a long time, guess it's the end of the season moment. One man left the voice channel after my calls (I'm a woman). The second one told me to shut up cause I'm a mercy player, when I asked why we're not trying to hold the highground. And the third one, enemy tank, told me to shut up as mercy player cause I said that this game was onesided and I as a player, tired of this (btw I noticed he tried to focus me all the game on sigma, but I barely died this match. So it's just mad kid). English is my second language so it's hard for me to stand my ground. Your video, Eley, showed me that it's okay to just ignore this kind of behavior. i look up to you as a support main, i am a kiriko and mercy main (mostly kiriko) and i am hard stuck high gold and low plat. my goal is to reach back to plat and reach someday diamond. what are your tips on ranking up as a support main?

As a diamond 4 mercy/moira player, the first tip is to find hiding spots and learn how to use them to advantage. Positioning is important in high ranks especially for support players. People don’t realize they are out in the open and get targeted first. A second tip you could start predicting the enemy’s move and make sure you listen closely. Last, you should understand that even if you play at your best, the team of yours can be at fault. Certain supports won’t fit a team composition so you may have to switch. Good luck!! :))

If you play Lucio (AKA Wielder of the worst healing skill in support group) you have no right to tell other support to change because you just DPS that disguse in other role. Lucio is a viable support in the right hands. Plenty of players use him efficiently if paired correctly. Obviously Mercy/Lucio is a terrible support pair but he works well with main sups like Ana or Tank comps like Rein, Winston.

You’re not picking Lucio for healing, you’re picking him for speed boost. It’s like Mercy, how you pick her for damage boost and Rez, not necessarily healing.

This is why I dont play solo ranked cause I got one teammate who complained abt me not healing him when i diffed OUR healer and both the other teams healers COMBINED ontop of that. I had more damage than h did at a whooping 1.5k as mercy.

I was play mercy and I am self-conscious about playing Mercy so he had said or she had said that if you keep dying then you should probably just change your character I got mad and sad, we lost the game but the next match I played we won both times for the comp match I don't know what to do when that happens, I would love tips

i looked at boops channel and his content is so unfunny 😭 it’s just cringe after cringe. but anyways, i learned how to leave team chat today (i actually didn’t know how to before, i’m not the smartest player LOL). people being toxic for no reason always lowers morale of the team, which means the games are lost. especially when they type in chat too.

I had an Anna in my game just be really rude to me she said she was always getting dove on by the tracer and winston and she was just typing abuse at me the whole game. My team stuck up for me because I had less deaths (a lot less deaths) and more heals. I tried to help her but really she should know when to switch if she’s getting hard countered. This game is a love hate relationship

It's probably pointless to swap if you can't play it at GM level. But, how do you not swap to Kiriko here. My team mates drink the anit-heal like its a slurpie not swapping feels so bad.

If we going the toxic route and they talking smack, simple: Don't heal em for the rest of the game (though you'd lose with them as well) It's a lose lose but it's what they get for being toxic to healers man

Best thing to do is to report them the sECOND they say something toxic as the ow report system is ai based and only picks upstuff that’s been said or typed within a rlly short window of time so report it as it happens 👍

the difference in your gameplay before and after you left the voice chat is crazy… i dont get how toxic players feel the need to speak when if anything the words they say are doing more harm than good in terms of the way you play the game like honestly it just makes me anxious and not better 😭

I am surprised this is GM. @11:26 the lucio peaks corridor alone, just to use amp and go back. What is the point of that? That is high-risk, no reward. The best you can get with a short peek like that is a few headshots and the only enemy you can kill with a 4-shot burst is Tracer... if you headshot all 4 shots. Then goes in solo to "contest" aka feed and gets long respawn instead of speed boosting the tank out of spawn to the point with amp to ACTUALLY contest. Am I missing something?

ow players can be toxic asf which is why i never join voice chat unless i play with friends. the game itself can be quite fun but in my opinion it’s the people who make it less enjoyable. i love playing mercy but playing her basically makes you the immediate blame if your team is losing.

This is probably a good/ bad take. BUT. I would rather a Mercy over a Lucio. Any day. And that’s not me being a fan or anything. It’s just. As I played comp and got to plat 3 and deranking severely. Because of stupidity. (Not my fault) Lucios healing is shit. His “utility” aka the boop. I’ve had times where a Lucio would boop a rein and the rein would come flying at me. And since his healing is shit. I have to play chase the dps/ tank to heal them. Especially if we get into a group fight. The speed boost. Is nice and all don’t get me wrong. But Everytime I’ve seen a Lucio speed boost it was for his self benefit. That ends up killing him.
