Hey, it's my city! Or where I am now anyway! If you want to do another Boston episode, let me know. I am obviously well-versed in the area and am a voice actor with a DAW setup, and can pronounce the names of the places. I also can do a decent Boston accent, even if it's not my normal accent. Very interesting scenario! I love these things anyway, so please comment if you're interested in collaborating. I'm also a writer. WHDH is an NBC-affiliated channel and WBZ is CBS-affiliated, though obviously 1030AM is not exactly the same as their Channel 4 TV station. Assembly Square in Somerville now has its own stop on the MBTA station. It would be interesting if the contamination spread via the rapid transit system. Somerville and Cambridge are closely entwined enough to occasionally be referred to in the populace as "Camberville". BTW, is MissVR hard of hearing?

How about a Major Winter Storm in New England that doesn't happen as it should? Like the Blizzard of 1978, it was well-forecasted, but several small details happen, like the snow starts just a bit later than it should, and a misreading of a model leaves one media outlet changing their forecast at the last moment, or their power is cut in a more malicious situation. A slight letup in the snow causes many people trapped at work to make a run for home but they get caught when the next wave of snow and wind happen. Meanwhile they underestimate the tides causing many at the coast to be isolated and/or trapped in their homes, and perhaps just to the south of Boston unexpected warm air works in just above the ground to create a devastating ice storm, plunging many areas into darkness. Most of the bulletins would eventually be going out by radio for those with battery-operated sets and the area descends into chaos for a few days before order can be restored. Many people may die because of lack of supplies, CO (carbon monoxide) poisoning, a deadly drop in temperatures after the storm passes, being trapped in flooded homes and other reasons. Plus, it could be a prelude to an episode later in the year featuring a hurricane strike in the area that could feature major callbacks to this theoretical episode. I'm a historical meteorologist and would be glad to help, and have also studied past disasters of all kinds.
