A lower base like voice sets up the rest so it makes sense especially if if it's a combo Ike miku katio luka and gumi or Mekio luka and gumi that the lower voices show more. The first Vocaloids were LEON and LOLA, but yeah, you're right, Meiko started it all for the Japanese Vocaloids (along with Kaito, they were made at the same time except Kaito was released late) They aren't actually true blue (or red, haha) Cryptonloids, as they were first created by Yamaha only (as confirmed by Kaito's seiyuu Fūga Naoto), but they were bought over by Crypton because at some point of time, the entire fandom looped them with the Character Vocal Series and fanarts and fanfictions (and fans altogether) treated them like a family despite not being from Crypton. I've seen lots of Meiko haters, Kaito haters, Miku haters, and sometimes I wonder what's there to hate anyway,,, hate is a strong word up and these voicebanks have never done anything but sung beautiful music by many people across the world. Most of the time, I think that they hate a Vocaloid only because they came across a few unruly and rude fans of that Vocaloid in comment sections before. That doesn't mean that all fans of that Vocaloid are equally as mean, nor does it give any reason to hate the Vocaloid itself. I'm speaking from the point of view of a fan who ships nearly every ship out there (for some reason, my two OTPs are ironically KaiMi AND KaiMei). You guys probably saw me in other comment sections before but seeing comment wars and ship wars just piss me off a lot,,, calling Miku "overrated" when she really just deserves that fame (read Kaito's wiki and find out how Miku's success impacted him and changed him from being the only Vocaloid failure ever to one of the most popular vocaloids out there), calling Meiko a drunken whore when she doesn't even have a canon personality (really, you can drink alcohol and not be an alcoholic nor a whore), and fighting over who's better, Len or Kaito... Ooh shit I went off ranting again,,, thanks for coming to my unplanned TED talk

I think the reason Miku is hated is simply because she's the most popular and is featured in the majority of songs (even though Rin and Gumi are extremely popular and I never see them getting quite the same amount of hate as Miku...); personally I LOVE Miku, she has a great range of vocals and has such varied tuning: from Syudou's quiet childlike tuning to DECO 27's cheerful upbeat range to Mitchie M's very human tuning, and to MASA's more mature voice for her. I think Kaito is similar (he's my favorite) in that he sounds like an ENTIRELY different vocalist when tuned differently: in the original Judgment of Corruption song by Mothy he sounds more akin to his vocal provider Naoto Fuuga, and in (the original) Cantarella he has a very soft, sweet voice. But in Ohedo Julia Night, he sounds almost unrecognizable. Granted, this also depends on the software used to tune them. I think the ones who hate really haven't been exposed to many vocaloid songs; people hate Kaito because a poor rendition of him can end up sounding like Kermit the Frog, and hate Meiko because she can sound screechy and choppy when tuned by an inexperienced person. Kaito and Meiko are two of the HARDEST to tune vocals, it takes a while to get them to sound properly. They're also older compared to the other vocals and get less updates and the like, so they've become rather outdated, although I think at least Kaito is still being used somewhat regularly. Meiko has become almost obsolete now, as Kaito still has relevance given there are less male vocals available than females, but Meiko has been outshined by Miku, Luka, Rin, and Gumi, who are easier to make sound better. I like Meiko, but I can understand why some people don't like her. However, I will NEVER understand the hate. If you don't like her, you simply just... don't listen to songs using her? It's that simple? Likewise to Miku, except I don't think so many people "hate" her so much as they resent all the attention she gets. I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't understand the ship wars. Literally EVERY one of the vocaloids has been paired with another vocaloid, there is no consistent couple among them; Magnet has Luka and Miku, Cantarella has Miku and Kaito, On the Rocks has Meiko and Kaito, Erase or Zero has Kaito and Len, 秘蜜〜黒の誓い〜 has Rin and Miku, Duke of Venomania has Gakupo and Gumi, 背徳の花 has Rin and Len, インビジブル has Gumi and Rin, THERE IS A PAIRING FOR EVERY SINGLE VOCALOID. STOP FIGHTING WHEN THERE IS NO CONSISTENT PAIRING.

I dunno but I feel like every time KAITO chimes in I feel like someone released the Kraken or something. Not in the Oh Finally Some Action! way but rather the Oh God Save Me I'm Dying! way. Of course no offence to the voice in question so don't kill me, KAITO's surprisingly large fanbase. (Seriously. Is it cause he's the first male or cause of the attractive CV image?)

A useless, probably boring game created using this song to test Vocaloid knoledge. Needs: - 2 Players (Or more if you want to make it more harder) - A Voice - Something to watch this with - This video. Explanation. One player (A) watches the video hiding the screen from the other player (B). Player B will be listening and has a chance to say which vocaloid(s) is/are singing (During the time that they have notified Player A when they plan to make a guess. Guess the vocaloid(s) wrong, they receive a punishment from player A. (This needs to be a simple punishment, like a slap to keep the game quick). If they get it right (or gets at least more than 50% of who's singing right) the song continues as well as the game. Simplified version: The player's supposed to guess who's singing during the song just by shouting it out. For some reason it's fun.. and for some reason I regret typing this.
