@@Patricia-uu6wo - Yes why? I would like to know the answer to that! I have always had 2 poodles together especially years ago when I had to go to work, they were company for each other. My girl Marley is due to whelp any day now, & it is her first litter, I can't relax lol, my boy Rasta is a bit old now at 13 but he can keep up with her and didn't waste any time getting in the bedroom so to speak lol,. My dogs are so beautiful, clever, faithful and protective. Rasta went totally deaf a few months back and he amazes me with his special sense he has, he just knows when someone is about to walk past our fence, he senses them before I have even heard someone walking, he is just brilliant at catching mice and young mom to be Marley simply observes, learns and joines in, the only negative I would say about Rasta is he suffers terrible separation anxiety, he won't eat or drink until I am back, I only pop to the local shop no more than an hour every couple of weeks, if it isn't hot weather I take them for a ride in the car otherwise they stay home in the aircon, when I am home they won't leave my side no matter what I do. @jameselliott44702 ай бұрын
@ the barking is not bad at all. She is “expressive” in a purposeful way - eg, when she wants to say hi, to warn me if there are unexpected noises in the hallway, sometimes when shw wants something (like to call me into the other room because she wants to sit in the easy chair and watch tv with me, lol). But the point is, it’s not just random noise. She’s expressing herself for a reason, which I love. Such a vibrant, but ultimately laid-back personality! Dogs are great!

I have had toy, miniature, and standard poodles. I had a male miniature when I was young and growing up and he was a real treat. Comical, happy go lucky, very friendly and loved loved riding in the car. Next came a male standard poodle and I didn’t care for him much. He attacked and bit my 4 yo son as he was walking by the room where the dog was eating. The dog just ran across the room and attacked him for no reason. When my husband brought the dog home at 3 months old I told my husband I didn’t like the look in his eyes and he laughed at me. I wasn’t wrong. Next I had a male toy who grew to be larger than a toy but not as large as a miniature. He was very smart and friendly to everyone, a very very picky eater, developed hereditary cataracts and allergies that the vet couldn’t explain. Almost his entire body was covered in an itchy rash which he kept chewing. Nothing relieved it. Then got Cushings disease. I also had a poodle mix rescue (mother poodle/father????). Size of a miniature with short black straight hair. Looked like a miniature lab if you can picture that. She also was a great dog, friendly, smart, and loved loved riding in the car. All of these dogs, except the standard poodle loved kids. I’ve had a lot of dogs in my lifetime (I’m 75 now) and lost my dog (not a poodle) a couple years ago to congestive heart failure. I’m ready for another dog now and a toy/miniature poodle it is going to be because they are friendly, smart, easy to train and don’t shed hair.

I rescued my toy poodle when he was 1 human year old. I named him Paxton. The owner abandoned his sister and let her die, placed her body in a bag and tossed her out simply because he didn’t want her anymore (which sickens me to the core) so I took this one in so the same wouldn’t happen to him. I found out he was abused had mats and was malnourished. He is now in good shape with full hair that we brush everyday and I gotta say, they are very intelligent animals. He learned how to sit and lay down within 30 minutes and is just great with kids and never bites or acts aggressive. He does have separation anxiety so there’s always a human with him 24/7 because he barks and cries when he’s alone so we are working to be able to leave him alone maybe with some music or dog noises on Alexa device

@JGoya_SeiboshiАй бұрын
I'd say it's OK to leave them 7 hours a day, but you must make their brains tired= tons of obedience tricks when you get home, puzzles etc. I used to have mini and he was really well behaved when left alone but then I'd make him do tricks for half an hour daily, besides his 30 min walk. Edit: I could never ever have any other breed other than the poodle. They're really great dogs.

"Standard poodles were originally bred for hunting, retrieving waterfowl from the water. Miniature and toy poodles were bred to be companion dogs in the home. While a poodle of any size can work, these dogs are commonly employed as service dogs, circus dogs, therapy dogs, or even as truffle hunters today." I am the bereaved mom of a standard poodle. She was quite the athlete. I don't think a mini or toy has the gait and beauty of standards.

I never thought that I would consider a toy poodle, I especially dislike any poodle with a "French poodle cut" as they look ridiculous to me but a toy poodle with a natural looking curly puppy cut is just real cut and have the advantage of not being barky little watch dogs.

I have all three standard, mini and toy. I find that toys bark the most and usually are the pickiest eaters. Toys are more sensitive to noise or sound compared to the minis or standards. The smaller the size, the more they have to bark about. Their smaller size in a way requires them to be more on guard for self protection. The best part about poodles in general is their hypoallergenic fur and their exceptional brain. Of course the cuteness is a mega bonus!

@Comeonlillyloo3 жыл бұрын
We have a sliver toy poodle called Billy Bum Bum, he is 11 yrs old. His auntie Dora passed away the end of June she ad bladder cancer she was 13yrs old. In the End she wore nappies. We miss her so much, we had a very special bond. Billy Bum Bum is a very good guard dog will let us known some one is there. But he does have anxiety separation. We both love this poodle so much. This why my channel is pinkpoodle 2 as I have pink hair I did have two poodle but I have only one now which makes me sad.💖🐩🐩💖🐾🐾🌹🌹🕊🇬🇧

I love how cute they look at this height, but I want to be able to do long walks and maybe runs etc. So I think miniature would be best as it is a bit of both (toy/standard).

We have both the toy (5yrs old) and mini (6 months old) our Toy is a very jealous and craves for so much attention vs the Mini. The mini is SUPER lovable. He’s pretty aggressive he sometimes pushes our toy away which I have so much but we are in love with both of them. Our German Shepherd is sweet with both even though she’s an outdoor dog she knows they are all out furry babies

We have a black miniature poodle who we got after putting down our white miniature poodle of 15 years. They are very intelligent and will warm your heart with lots of love. Give them time and attention and you’ll be rewarded greatly by their love and friendship. Be warned, that they WILL become a member of the family that you will love dearly.

I have a miniature poodle I had her since she was four they are lovely dogs you should get one they live a long life long if you take care of them they're very easily trained and they are very loyal my poodle is 18 years old and she's pretty much on her last go I'm getting kind of sad but she's lived a great life with us she's lost her sight she's got glaucoma I mean cataracts
@stillwatersfarm84994 жыл бұрын
I’ve been a life long cat owner, and we just switched to a toy poodle. (Cats live in a separate building we have.) The dog is more work, but with training and supervision, she’s less destructive. You can only train a cat to behave when you are looking at them. A dog can be crate trained. Cats are fun when they are kittens and then get pretty lazy. But they are good if you don’t have time, travel a lot, etc. A cat can be left with food and water for a week and be fine.

@@mason4042 if it's crossed with a poodle, it's not a breed. It's just a mutt. These doodle and poo mixes are poorly bred abominations. Just get a freaking poodle. Almost everyone who gets these kind of dogs will list desired traits that a poodle already has

Toy poodles are very friendly, so they don't make very good watch dogs. However, they can be very good alarm dogs. If anyone comes within 20 feet of my mother's house her toy poodle raises a loud fuss.

My sister's best friend has the Miniature poodle he is 4 years old he is so full of energy. She takes him with her when she walks and is jogging every day. He has a best friend next door to him. My friend has a full backyard with lots of fun dog toys and tunnels that's fenced-in. They get a lot of play time outdoors in the summertime. At the end of each day her dog is still full of energy. Does anyone have any tips I can give her that can wear him out.. Also he would mark everything out side in the backyard that's fenced in. This past year he started marking her trash can. Then over time he was marking on the side of her bed, toilet living room chair plus he still does this outside. I have never seen a male dog mark like this all the time. He been to the vet they found nothing wrong with him and said he was very healthy. She even got a second opinion he said the same thing. Any tips would be so great full.
