The only removable mask Predator I recall from the McFarlane 7" series was the 2004 version of the Predator 2 City Hunter. The mask is attached on his shoulder by a chord and comes on and off pretty well. It comes with a load of accessories and even his hand is removable to resemble the scene when it was cut off. Fun to have for any collector. The toy co. Kenner also had a series of Predator figures most of which had removable masks.

I give the Celtic figure a 9 because of its more protective armor, bio mask, and articulation.

I always thought the same thing, Spot. I would have preferred all 3 of the young Predators much more than the Elder, even though I wouldn't knock him as a figure. I guess the "Chopper" Predator was featured too little in the movie and didn't have much of a distinct look, that McFarlane thought it was a waste to do a figure of him and landed on doing the Elder instead. Kind of a shame, since you'd be missing 1 main Predator character. I would feel like my collection was slightly incomplete.

Great review. Those under arm blades were deff in the movie. It shows them equiping them in the beginning of movie inside thier ship above earth but after they land i think they suddenly disappear off thier arms. Silly

I appreciate the Neca versions so much more now after looking at these. The dredlocks are fused together, the arm blades are overkill and too long, they don't even retract. Yeesh. Gotta love that Celtic Pred mask tho!

The blades were used in the movie by the third predator dubbed the "gill" predator. He was the one that was killed first.

Yeah the Celtic was my favorite as well. I own a replica mask where the eyes and tri-laser actually work. Hopefully NECA might pick up this movie licence (Aside from the AVPR licence) and give us more movie accurate figures

Well your in luck, I asked Neca on twitter if they would ever make the AVP Predators. They said they now have the rights to them,and ALL of the AVP Predators will be coming out in the Predator:Series 11. Series 8 just came out not to long ago.

Wow... I finally decided to pull the trigger and swoop this up from my local Comic shop. On sale I was able to snatch it up for $50 new in box. However, I decided to open it up to add him to my collection and sure enough the left hand broke during posing!! Yep, new straight from the box and it snapped off, I was able to super glue it back but still that is absolutely absurd.

Bottom line (imo) is this is an absolutely beautiful figure, with great articulation for its era. The only draw backs are the pre-posed right arm, the overly large shoulder cannon, and most importantly the fragility of this figure. This was actually the only action figure I broke, at least during my adult collecting.

@DynamicCrip Prometheus isn't a prequel to the Alien movies as it was first announced to be. It's rather connected to them, by exploring the origins of the Space Jockey creature in the first movie and follow it's own story. Not sure if Aliens will show up in the film or not, but NECA will be doing figures from the movie. If an AVP 3 were to happen, McFarlane would not do figures as he does not have the rights anymore. NECA has the license, so they would be the ones to do them.

Also macfarlane lied I remember buying this guy at Walmart in 2004 and I bought celtic and when I got home I looked on the back of the box and saw the scar predator and he was unmasked so I went back to walmart and asked if they had the scar predator in stock and they did so I bought it and I didn't get a chance to get a look at it so when I got home I took it out of the back and saw that he had a mask on I was very unimpressed and very disappointed this toy line could have had much success if they would done everything right
