Tbh, most people love this movie. But this was the "Last Jedi" of Toy Story for me. I felt like it took a dump on the franchise. But I'm in the minority here.

@@johnnymassacre Toy Story 2 and 3 are arguably the rare sequels that are superior to the original. A lot of people hate Toy Story 4 precisely because it absolutely ruins the perfect climax to the series that was the ending of Toy Story 3.

We fell in love with the previous Toy Stories: the characters, the stories, the world, etc. So once Disney had our love, they took advantage of it and served us cash-grab garbage in the guise of what we had grown to know and love. Absolutely awful: Disney has become artless and heartless

The worst part for me is Buzz Lightyear.They made him so stupid. This is fucking Buzz Lightyear. We knew him for 24 years at least. What happened to him? He’s a natural leader. Did his reset in the last movie make him lose a few brain cells? Or did Pixar just make him stupid because of social justice.

It plagued with all the Disney issues (not Pixar). Annoying main character, downplayed overall theme, forcefully inserted and kind of stereotypically strong female leader, and tampering with fan favorite characters

You mentioned not seeing Toy Story 2, and 3! They are outstanding and definitely worth the time to watch them. Both are very well done! However, they will give you reason to dislike Toy Story 4 even more! It's hard to hide mediocrity when excellence precedes it!!!

The franchise ended as a trilogy and it should've ended that way! But Disney, obsessed with being number 1 of the animation industry, made Pixar create this unnecessary long-distant sequel nobody asked for to snub DreamWorks at the Oscars. Disney couldn't stomach a NON-Disney animated film winning that award and when "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", a movie produced by Sony Pictures Animation, won everyone's hearts last year, Disney snapped after buing Fox for distributing rights and they think they can just OWN Blue Sky Studios starting with "Spies in Disguise", just like what they did with "Strange Magic". Everyone, put your votes into "How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World". DreamWorks does a better job at making sequels. Disney lost its heart.

Yeah I thought 4 was total crap, it should have ended with 3. 2 was my favourite of all the films in terms of writing, developing it's characters l, plot, and everything about it. 4 had a lot of plot holes, bad writing, bad pacing, horrible messages about who you should leave your friends and family behind for a friend you hadn't seen in years who starts to treat you bad and never says sorry. Fuck this movie and how woke it is. Toy story 1 2 and 3 were awesome movies and very nice review

Great review. Though I am gonna watch the movie at least once with my kid. By the way, TS2 is bad, like really bad. TS3 is very good on the other hand - well scripted and genuinely fun to watch (other than a few Elton John gay inspired stuff).
