Noah whenever you find yourself in a situation where your hiccups aren't stopping, just hold your breath multiple times and it'll stop

Hiccups are literally caused by our brain not feeling it has enough oxygen so it kicks off involuntary spasms which make us breathe. Just drink water and breathe properly and hiccups should go away on their own.

You know there is a legitimate way to get rid of hiccups right? I've personally used this strategy over 30 time or so. Step 1: While standing up take a deep breathe and hold it. Step 2: While holding your breath lean over and touch your toes. Step 3: While holding your breathe and this position, swallow saliva three times. Step 4: Exhale slowly as you begin raising your torso. Boom, done. I haven't had a single time where this method failed me.

everytime i get the hiccups i remind myself im not a fish. I dont know exactly why it works but its supposedly because of some ancestral connection with an aquatic species so we had gills at one point, and hiccups are essentially us trying to put air bubbles into the “water” which would be our air nowadays
