There are at least two reasons to put the sticker over the egg's connection. The first is that it doubles as a tamper indicator, if the sticker is torn then someone likely opened the egg. The second is that it helps hold the egg together even if it gets dropped or tossed around.

Heck, could you imagine the real Woody and Buzz meeting all these bootleg versions of themselves? Well, aside from that one short with the little 'Happy Meal' Buzz. Loved that ending bit with Ash capturing those knock-off toys btw.

These don't appear to be direct castings or mould-copies of Bandai's toys. Bootleggers are known to make off-model "original" moulds using existing toys as reference, though.

I do remember an Ashens video about fake figures of Cap'n America, Hulk, R2D2 and Nemo coming in eggs. The Captain America and Hulk figures had an exact same transformation with the head flipping out from the chest part after you open it not unlike the Woody and Buzz figures in this video. Speaking of Ashens, he did a short covering Ambiacle Hurculean and I immediately got flashbacks to the Phelous' video on said knockoff toyline.

It's a little late, but this may help sometime in the future: using a blow dryer can help pull stickers off cleanly. The heat softens the glue making it easier to peel off and restick

So, I think I know where the egg gimmick came from. I recall another channel, Baltmatrix, reviewing several Japanese egg transforming toys from the same line that had both Godzilla & Pixar characters in them. I think this Woody & Buzz are bootlegs of those figures.

I have seen similar figures from Bandai. Ones that I happen to be familiar with are called Ultra Eggs as those are bunch of Ultramen and Ultraman monsters that turn into eggs.

So I agree that these are awful for the purposes of toy collection or even most childplay. However, these do seem perfect for what I call "stocking stuffer" toys. Things that are super cheap and just novel enough that I could see myself buying a bunch if I was hosting some kind of community egg hunt on Easter.

They're actually bootlegs of an official Takara Tomy transforming eggs series, they have the license for Star wars, toy story, cars, nemo and tokusatsu series like ultraman and even Godzilla. So, in the comparison portion I'd give them a 2/10. They're still garbage but even the original Takara one are hollow on the back.
