Can I just gush over the animation for a moment?! LIKE HOLY COW!! I will say first of all that it was hilarious seeing Buzz and Woody do “anime” tropes like the sound effects of “Oh!” And the little noises of affirmation or shock. Manga-style looks good on Buzz, but it’s a little weird for me on Woody. But oml the ANIMATION fits gloriously into Kingdom Hearts’ world! The details! Don’t even get me started. Woody’s little tic of messing with his hat when he’s nervous or upset, the way Buzz and Woody’s facial expressions looked like something DIRECTLY out of the movie! Absolutely flawless, I felt like I was watching a little ToyStory short. I saw the opening cutscene in Andy’s Room waayyy back when this game first came out, and boy was it weird hearing Woody and Buzz speaking Japanese, lmao. Holy cow that was a ride-and-a-half. It was so wholesome seeing Buzz and Woody interact OOC a little with Sora and the gang, and each other too. Honestly Toy Story’s message of “We’ll always be there for our friends, no matter what.” Really hits home for Kingdom Hearts, cheesy tropes and all. So glad this was included in the game.

Wow - at the end the even draw parallels that are obvious, but I didn't notice until pointed out - personality wise, Sora and Woody are similar, they both are dependable and put their friends first, Buzz and Donald aren't the most optimistic, but this keeps them realistic, and they're always making sure their wild-card friend isn't getting into trouble, and Goofy and Rex care about their friends yet are cowardly, yet have moments of wisdom that bring insight that wouldn't have been if it were just the brave Woody/Sora or logical Donald/Buzz. I honestly thought I was watching a short until I was 5 minutes in, this was done so well. There's even scenes hinting at their parallels that I now realize, after it was pointed out in the ending scene. Beyond that, the themes of TS blend well with KH too, if I'm being honest. This was very well thought out and animated. It really could be a short if they wanted to make it into one with a little more editing/adding some travel scenes.

Hey guys, I realized that the Toy Story segment of Kingdom Hearts 3 definitely takes place after Toy Story 2. I've recently watched the first two Toy Story movies again and I saw that the triplet aliens don't become a part of Andy's toy collection until the end of Toy Story 2. It's really too bad that Jessie couldn't be in Kingdom Hearts 3 as well. Square Enix could've given us the option to choose two out of the three Toy Story characters (Woody, Buzz and Jessie) to be on our team and the ability to switch the characters around whenever we want.

If I remember correctly, in the ending you can see them returning home. However, even if it's not shown, going by the actual lore in the movie, they do get home. Seeing as they still are Andy's toys, this happens between the second movie and the third.

I liked that they included Big Hero 6 in KH3. BUT...absolutely no joke here.
