Patisserie GIRAFFE (パティスリージラフ) is considered one of the best cake shops in Toyama, if not the best. Its reputation spans decades. Located by Jinzu river, next to a famous Soba restaurant called Daruma, Patisserie GIRAFFE offer rich cakes, chocolate sweets, buttery pastries and even jams. Before COVID-19, you could enjoy your cake at the establishment over a cup of coffee or tea, but not recently. Parking is sparse, and there are many cars coming and going. If it's not too crowded, you can read the explanations of the cakes, or the chef would be happy to explain the intricacies of his preparations, for a better appreciation of the art that goes into each cake.
