The Trade Federation at this point is technically also a „Neutral Company“ since they also have a Seat in the Senate, so it’s kinda understandable that Katunko has Reservations about helping the Republic when another „Republic-Ally“ tells him about the Separatists

The sad thing about the 3 clones that were with yoda is that "Jek" was beheaded by yoda during order 66 and "thire" was tasked to hunt yoda down after he lost his fight with palpatine in ep 3

One interesting detail is the fact that in comparison to Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, the battle droids are much more verbal in this series and have more a comedic tone to them too. There's actually a reason for this in the lore which also factored into why the droids are much more outspoken and funnier. Droids tend to develop personalities if they don't receive regular memory wipes. Since B1s and Super Battle Droids were designed with quantity over quality in mind, the Separatists likely didn't bother with frequent memory wipes to save costs. They originally wanted the battle droid armies to always be remotely controlled from one command ship (like in Episode 1) but after they saw how that turned out after Episode 1, they needed a new solution. Newer models of droids were given more autonomous functions. They became actual, intelligent droids instead of automatons. They are just intelligent enough to display some personality traits, but dumb enough that their personality is childish and clumsy. When more orders came in for independently functioning droids after the Naboo debacle, the Trade Federation had to scramble to acquire enough droid brains to fulfill the order. As a result the B-series battle droids ended up with a whole assortment of cheap processors designed for worker droids, protocol droids, and whatever else Baktoid could purchase in bulk, all rather crudely reprogrammed for combat. Fun fact for Episode 2: It also partly explains why C-3PO's head is almost plug-and-play compatible with the B1 body and vice versa when his body and head got swapped with a battle droid during the arena fight.

I don't know why Dooku thought it was a good idea to send Ventress where Yoda was going. That was foolish. Only him and Palpatine could realistically face him as an equal

I love Star Wars warcrimes as much as the next guy but episodes like these are part of what gets me excited about both of you watching this show: the focus on describing the context of the Galaxy during this era, society, politics and even economics. Everything that they add in this show is very enriching to the Star Wars canon

Remember Lott Dod from Phantom Menace? He was the one who "objected" to Amidala's claims that Naboo was being invaded by the Trade Federation and needed proof. The Sith used to have their own Order but the Jedi finally prevailed. The Sith went off their radar by implementing The Rule of Two, only two Sith would be much more discreet than a whole order of them and each of those two would share more power to themselves as well.

George Lucas chose Yoda’s speech pattern because he wanted people to focus extra on the important stuff he actually said, as to differentiate to others. Maybe it didn’t exactly work out with how much people just laugh at Yoda thinking he’s just goofy. But it is fun to have theories about.

I think yoda uses this speech to sound wise. Like being wise is part of his protective ego. To be unquestioned. Or prevent being questioned. Note that when he's stressed during his first battle on genesis in AOTC speaks fine because he cannot first think about how to say what he needs to say. He just says 'concentrate all your fire on the nearest starship'. This will be unpopular but the fact is that star wars is a great deal about understanding the ego, it's formation, it's consequences and it's purpose

Sorry for my third comment, but don’t forget that Shaak Ti advocated to the Prime Minister of Kamino that the clones were people and not products. Many of the Jedi value the clones as more than just products for war. They just don’t have a choice in using the clones because they don’t have the numbers to fight a war. And the Separatists wont wait for them to find a more ethical army

The chronological watch order for clone wars episodes is so weird, I think because they did a story and then a few episodes later they be like "okay so remember when that one thing was going on? Okay so these people were doing that before that and then these other people were over here and that's why we're showing this now, which is right after they just got out of a fight which we'll show you another time when we come back to it after we take you on a cute droid adventure for a few weeks😅" lol but tbh it's so on-brand for a franchise that started with a movie called "Episode IV" 😂

The prequels got so much hate when they first got released ounce George created Clone wars animated series I feel it saved how people felt about the prequels and changed how people felt about Ahmed Best and hayden christensen in the prequels

Hello, check out a movie called, 1492: Conquest of Paradise. Adventure/Drama (1992). It stars Gérard Depardieu, Siqourney Weaver, Armante Assante. It portrays a version of the travels to the New World by the Italian explorer Christopher Columbus and the effect this had on indigenous peoples. Directed by Ridley Scott. Thank you, Chris.

I liked that you mentioned clones and gender identity, there is a transgender clone in the Padme trilogy of books and also another character that I won't mention yet because of spoilers.

That doesn't count and is not considered canon for starters it's clearly about gender politics every single bit of information was created in 2022 it hoes against everything established about the Clones that clone is the only example which means he is defective. Clones where bread from male DNA they can't be biologically female like Omega unless their genes are tampered with and they can't have those types of thoughts because they haven't got a Y cromasone if they did it would have been removed Secondly Clones are specialy bread they used Jangos DNA because he was an experienced warrior and the Clones genes needed to reflect that anything less was discarded ei destroyed if a trans clone existed he would have had those thoughts from the beginning and never allowed to leave Kamino they would have definitely been labelled defective and terminated the only reason Clone force 99 exist is because their defects happen to be useful traits and even then the Kaminions barely tolerate their existence.

24:22 I don’t think there’s a nonbinary clone but there is a transgender one named “Sister.” She actually fought with Obi-wan, Anakin, and Commander Cody. And she was very accepted by the other clones and notably by Anakin. The reason they call her “Sister” is to let everyone know she still belongs. Sister: “I was afraid, before I left Kamino. We don't really know what happens to unusual clones. But my brothers never let me doubt. I wasn't sure if the Jedi would understand." Anakin: "The Jedi are all about transcending things. I don't think we can complain if you've transcended gender." Sister: "Transcended gender. We'll work on it, but I like where it's heading.”

It's hilarious to me that that's something that even matters to clones during a war. In real life, during wars, nobody who actually fought was concerned with anything like that. It's usually people who live in very crowded conditions and people who live in very opulent nations who make up issues like these. So for a clone to be concerned about it is very unrealistic and silly

@@yobud6637 The point of the quotes were to show that the clones WEREN’T concered and it DIDN’T matter. I don’t know how you interpreted the complete opposite way? Sister made the point that every clone accepted her and she never had to worry about them, only the Jedi.

@@EM-fl5od Isn't the whole point of Sister calling himself a woman that he actually WAS concerned with his gender? That's what I meant. If you're in a war, and you're not one of the people who profits off of it, you don't even think about coming up with issues about gender identity, because (a) there are bigger things to worry about and (b) your physical identity is already set, so why would they even think about it at all?

@@MegMageReacts sincerely i never heard of sister i thought ik almost all clone wars lore imma look it up but come on one of millions is kinda hard to hear about especially in the legends content i thought ik it all from clone wars to first order. But my point still stands i thought it was crazy to think of trans stuff when speaking about different personalities i just think its strange. I also think its unfair to say i have no clue what im talking about ive been watching clone wars since i been 4 but i aint mean to offend anyone its just my different opinions and train of thought -pharox

After seeing Dooku’s origins from tales of the Jedi now seeing this episode of clone wars you really get the sense of just how far Dooku has fallen from what he was. He went from being a Jedi who wanted to do good for the galaxy from being outraged a senator is letting his planet waste away to now doing the exact same thing strong-arming the Toydarians into obedience.

Senator Lott Dodd of the Trade Federation was already in Episode I when Padmé spoke to the senate about the naboo blockade/invasion. Also I can recommend you the Clone Wars (2D) Microseries from 2003. It's not canon anymore but I think it goes well with The Clone Wars. The first half of the microseries takes place before TCW, from the first battles of the war up to Anakin's knighthood. You will also see there how Dooku recruited Ventress and how she got her lightsabers. (Again, it's not canon anymore but a possible version how it could have been.) The second half of the microseries takes place during the last battles of the war, right before Episode III. So after most of the events of TCW and nothing of TCW will be spoiled by the CW Microseries.

Yeah.... that intro made me a little uncomfortable. Caleb you're good brother. Wanting to expand your perspective doesn't make you anything other than wise. Meg saying you don't understand social cues felt insanely ironic with what she was saying to you. I might be out of line here but I felt compelled to comment.

The morality is actually at the core of this. Toydaria is neutral because they don’t want to send their citizens to war and because they require the trade for the prosperity of their planet. As the King of Toydaria, his first duty is to his people, not to other planets. By going on this mission, the King would be subjecting his citizens to something they didn’t ask for either. They would lose the lifestyle they’ve built for their people, while also making themselves a known enemy of the Separatist cause. Now you’re asking them what’s more important: Foreign morality, or domestic peace. As a King, your first responsibility is domestic peace, not foreign morality. Unfortunately

Although so far we have yet to see a non-binary clone, there is a trans clone trooper by the name of “sister” that showed up in a couple of books in the last few years.

The only major problem I would find with the idea is that Kaminoans are grade A evil bigots and psychotically perfectionist. In the Legends canon they had originally planned to liquidate clones who so much as came out with the wrong eye color. I think that they would probably dissect any clone with gender disphoria down the individual DNA strand, because they are basically supervillains. The kaminoans literally judge their own species by eye color. The clones were product, and were cared about much the same way. If an oreo passes through and one of the cookies was cracked an inspection employee pulls it off the line and yeets it into a bucket to be made into cookies and cream chunks. Much the same way that if a clone isn't perfect they pull it and turn it into protein paste. Hate to break it to you but a trans troops wouldn't exist.

If you love Yoda and more of his sympathetic side towards others definetely read the book Yoda: Dark Rendezvous. It's the best Yoda portrayal outside what's on screen. The book is technically not canon anymore, but it doesn't matter it's a fine read.

I think canonically he speaks like that, because it forces people to listen more closely to what he has to say and people think longer about his words.

While Jar Jar is annoyingly clumsy and that’s why people don’t want to be around him, he is actually a very skilled politician. He managed to convince the whole senate to give Palpatine Emergency Powers. Speak patterns do not matter so much in their universe. For us it sounds silly, but there are a lot of different languages and dialects in a galaxy this big. Also, this does extent to Gungans as a whole. Many Star Wars fans underestimate them. But they have one of the strongest non-clone army of the republic.
