Had no idea that the common eco-friendly themes of the time were a result of government regulation. Makes a lot of sense. Even as a kid I remember thinking all the shows had a similar theme, and now over 25 years later I know why.

In 1995/1996 when I was four, my local supermarket had a book display that was filled with these short hardback books for various cartoon series - my mum bought me one whenever she got paid and we would always read the book together when she got home. I collected all six books of the Biker Mice from Mars series this way. They were only simplistic adaptions of key episodes of the TV series but I loved them at the time and they definitely had a positive impact on my love of reading. Damn, didn't expect this nostalgia trip. I feel like calling my mom all of a sudden. Damn you ToyGalaxy.

(I'm not even gonna start on the Power Rangers toys/Zords)... but I digress. Yeah having them crossover was standard like the Marvel or DC universes.. @@TeryJones No, Voltron and She-Ra both got the 6-episode treatment. I think the only issue is them CALLING it a season. Realistically, we're just getting one season with a huge hiatus in the middle of it. Kind of like what Cartoon Network does with Steven Universe, etc. Actually, now that I think about it, I think more companies are "McRibbing" their cartoons. Ratings tend to drop as a season carries on, so by waiting to release everything in a chunk, you not only build anticipation, but also get similar viewership for ALL the episodes, because they're likely all watched in one go. Granted, this only works if people are invested in the product. If the initial response is tepid, you're more likely to squander what little interest there was by not having anything going on for long periods of time.

Part of the post-turtles anthropomorphic toon wave, it was part of the list of shows I’d watch (cause I’d watch pretty much anything animated), but was never a big enough fan to have gotten any of the toys or to have left any serious impression on me. If someone asked me about cartoons in the 90’s I might have forgotten it, but a topic on anthropomorphic animal shows would have probably had it listed as I was running out of steam, alternating with the Cow Boys of Moomesa for one of the last shows I could think of.

Videos like these are the reason why I subscribed to your channel. 😊( nostalgic sigh) The 90s were a good time for kids growing up. Those anthromorphic cartoons you mentioned, I remember thinking up crossovers of those shows. I used to imagine the TMNT, Biker Mice, Swat Kats, Street Sharks, & Extreme Dinosaurs teaming up against some common enemy or something. Never thought to write it any of it down though, I didn't know there was a thing called fan fiction back then. And the funny thing is, Avenger Penguins was aired here in the Philippines. I watched it but don't remember much about it except that: it was British, they focused more on comedy than action, and the theme song, which was really catchy. Really, it's playing in my head right now as I'm typing this. 😅

I love that franchise. It was more than just a TMNT clone (which made it better than Street Sharks). The toys were cool. I like how the series evolved when it came back. It's a shame those never fully aired in America. I do like that they are committed to keeping the show on KZbin until a DVD happens--which is long over due.

Loved this back in the day! Modo was my choose-your-character :D I still remember how I had asked as a present for Christmas to have an action-figure of Modo on a bike...but got a real Small parakeet parrot instead. My first reaction was - NO!!!!! where is my MODO!!!?!? :D But oh well - Biker Mice disappeared, but that parrot became my best bud for the whole 12 years :)

Loved Biker Mice From Mars as a kid, still own all three mice (Throttle, Modo and Vinnie) with their bikes and helmets. Never owned the Limburger figurine. Did you know that the Limburger figurine actually made a cameo in "The Indian in the cupboard"?

That intro is as rockin now as it was in the 90's! My bro still has the scoreboard, it's missing a couple of pieces because darn, trusting and expecting kids to keep dozens upon dozens of tiny accessories together was a thing back then it seemed but it is still one of his prized possessions. I even remember him getting mad at me for losing his Charlie figure as a kid because it was so difficult to come by, never did find it again.

I think of all of the many TMNT clones littering the toy aisle in the '90s, Biker Mice From Mars was one of them.

I was into the original series when it was on TV (later in my country, I'm pretty certain it's either '95 or '96). I didn't see the complete series bc school, and because we didn't have a VCR player/recorder. I never knew it was rebooted, thank you!

Well done as always, kids! But if you're gonna go over the top 90s anthropomorphic guano, ya gotta set your sights on CAPTAIN BUCKY O'HARE. Buck Rogers, Bucky, as a rabbit...O'Hare...ohhh HARE...get it? Anywayyyy...that ish was bananas and I loved it.

Edit: Plutarchians, plutocrats, I finally get that now. Growing up in the 90's I had so much hope that humanity would get it's act together with environmental protection. Now it's 2021, I'm depressed and jaded, California burns every summer, and Texas is frozen.

Completely random but I remember that little movie "The Indian in the Cupboard" and in one scene where the kid is taking cowboy and NA figures from a diorama, he replaces them with toys from his own collection. One of the most prominent being: Laurence Limburger.

Man, did this ever bring back memories!! I was a huge fan of the original Biker Mice From Mars, & I had the action figures! I had Vinnie, Throttle, Modo, Lawrence Limburger, & Dr. Karbunckle. I'm sure I spelled that wrong, lol. I had no idea that there had ever been an SNES game, or a PS2 game, or that the series had been rebooted in 2006! Also, I always figured that Modo was voiced by a black dude.

Been a firm fan since day one. And just for Nostalgia purposes I'd love to see a live action film, maybe either a retelling of the classic story arc or a finale to the S4 arc. I just want the see it happen in a way that it has happened to TMNT etc over the past decade or so. Also on the subject of anthropomorphic creatures, what ever happened to Bucky O'hare?
