Had no idea that the common eco-friendly themes of the time were a result of government regulation. Makes a lot of sense. Even as a kid I remember thinking all the shows had a similar theme, and now over 25 years later I know why.

@@TeryJones No, Voltron and She-Ra both got the 6-episode treatment. I think the only issue is them CALLING it a season. Realistically, we're just getting one season with a huge hiatus in the middle of it. Kind of like what Cartoon Network does with Steven Universe, etc. Actually, now that I think about it, I think more companies are "McRibbing" their cartoons. Ratings tend to drop as a season carries on, so by waiting to release everything in a chunk, you not only build anticipation, but also get similar viewership for ALL the episodes, because they're likely all watched in one go. Granted, this only works if people are invested in the product. If the initial response is tepid, you're more likely to squander what little interest there was by not having anything going on for long periods of time.

Part of the post-turtles anthropomorphic toon wave, it was part of the list of shows I’d watch (cause I’d watch pretty much anything animated), but was never a big enough fan to have gotten any of the toys or to have left any serious impression on me. If someone asked me about cartoons in the 90’s I might have forgotten it, but a topic on anthropomorphic animal shows would have probably had it listed as I was running out of steam, alternating with the Cow Boys of Moomesa for one of the last shows I could think of.

Videos like these are the reason why I subscribed to your channel. 😊( nostalgic sigh) The 90s were a good time for kids growing up. Those anthromorphic cartoons you mentioned, I remember thinking up crossovers of those shows. I used to imagine the TMNT, Biker Mice, Swat Kats, Street Sharks, & Extreme Dinosaurs teaming up against some common enemy or something. Never thought to write it any of it down though, I didn't know there was a thing called fan fiction back then. And the funny thing is, Avenger Penguins was aired here in the Philippines. I watched it but don't remember much about it except that: it was British, they focused more on comedy than action, and the theme song, which was really catchy. Really, it's playing in my head right now as I'm typing this. 😅

Completely random but I remember that little movie "The Indian in the Cupboard" and in one scene where the kid is taking cowboy and NA figures from a diorama, he replaces them with toys from his own collection. One of the most prominent being: Laurence Limburger.

Man, did this ever bring back memories!! I was a huge fan of the original Biker Mice From Mars, & I had the action figures! I had Vinnie, Throttle, Modo, Lawrence Limburger, & Dr. Karbunckle. I'm sure I spelled that wrong, lol. I had no idea that there had ever been an SNES game, or a PS2 game, or that the series had been rebooted in 2006! Also, I always figured that Modo was voiced by a black dude.

Been a firm fan since day one. And just for Nostalgia purposes I'd love to see a live action film, maybe either a retelling of the classic story arc or a finale to the S4 arc. I just want the see it happen in a way that it has happened to TMNT etc over the past decade or so. Also on the subject of anthropomorphic creatures, what ever happened to Bucky O'hare?
