@@AgedAxes Thanks Adam! But it can't happen this year. Wish I could - I'm in Canada and I usually spend a month in the summer on camping, fishing, and rail fan vacation in the western states. Would love to explore Southern Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and Nevada. So much railroad history and current operations to explore. The border is closed, sadly, and it looks like it is going to stay closed for the rest of this year. I'd try and take you up on that offer next year, though!

When a tree falls in the forest and there’s no one around to hear it does it make a sound? Not really sure but when a tree falls on your house and takes out all the powerlines it makes quite a racket. As you may know we’ve been hit by hurricane velocity winds and all our power is off. Making commenting back to people really difficult as I can’t even keep my cell phone charged. Sorry about this but we will get back on it as soon as we have power. Stay safe and if you see a hurricane coming your way duck

Hi. Thanks fer sticking with us. Dang we have a good time though. The pandemic has crimped or style. But then Adam goes through this.... we didn’t talk about it as we don’t do politics or negativity on the channel. But Adam is a Trump guy. Great. But when he got Covid his friends seemed to think he was a traitor or something. All he did was go to work. Anyway now he’s outspoken about how trump and the government has screwed everything up. And most of his friends are not even speaking to him. So we play with trains. Cause they don’t abandon you cause you get sick. Anyway we are getting a lot done on the house and layout and show. And staying safe. Mostly. Two days ago we went for a train ride. Cause dang....

That's a lot of work... and will be sweet when it's done... then back to the basement layout. My neighbor has a 6 1/4 inch layout that covers most of the five acre lot. He makes his own concrete ties with tie plates cast in them so all he does is weld the steel track to the plates. As I remember he is using 3/8 × 3/4 steel flat bar for track rail.
@ToyManTelevision
@ToyManTelevision 4 жыл бұрын
Wow!!! I knew some guys using iron strap about 1/8 inch standing up and notched into wooden ties. Ultimately approved to be a disaster! Really was hard on the train wheels

@krissfemmpaws1029 4 жыл бұрын
@@ToyManTelevision he is running a steam driven locomotives so he is not pulling power from the track, I don't know if that matters. Now that I thought about it he could be using 3/16 or 1/4 flat bar. I know it's not 1/8 inch thick bar. He has a jig set up so he can make up to a 10 foot section of track at a time. The next time I'm over there I'll have to take a closer look. He has enough tie molds to use one bag of quick-crete and third of a bag of sand with added cement

He’s been buying that from a supplier. Most of it is aluminum but some of it is steel. He really prefers the steel. The stuff on top of the Trussell is steel as well as the rails crossing through the driveway. I think everything else is the aluminum. The aluminum is a lot cheaper. But it’s regular rail shaped just like an actual train rail just smaller

Awesome layout but at 4:13 he needs to get a concrete form vibrator so he does not have all of those air pockets not do they only look bad but can cause water damage to the piers themselves ! I would be concerned about vandals by the street in CA you cannot defend yourself let alone your property !

@ToyManTelevision
@ToyManTelevision 4 жыл бұрын
There’s so massive that I don’t think that would work out. Will probably take three days just to print one. Had a dollar apiece they’re not expensive but it’s another dollar to ship them. But white van has been doing with the worlds largest backyard railroad is he simply packs up a trailer and heads out to Missouri picks up 4 or 5000 of them. Enough to last him for years and it just requires one trip out there with a trailer. Sure it’s like $4000 to buy the tires but that’s for 4000 tires so who cares?
