Why is it that people in the US think that just because they can't obtain something in the US makes everything "fake". DOT won't allow anything that doesn't meet DOT safety requirements unavailable to be imported. Remember the govt agency that pulls everything that children play with because of "hazards"? Well they're the same agency that's now protecting adults from making their own decisions about your own life choices. They call it "the land of the free" but we'll make that decision for you! We're protecting you from yourself because you're not adult enough to make that decision. In some cases I'd have to agree with that! Some of those people go on to win Darwin awards though!

No, it just doesn't meet DOT safety standards so not for sale/import in the US. I had a friend that went down to Toyota and tried to buy one. That's what was told to him. You have to go outside the US in order to not have big brother making decisions about your life choices.
