Toyota 3B oil pressure switch, sender and EDIC for cold start issues

In this video I describe my process of re-connecting the oil pressure switch and oil pressure sender cables to the sensor on the block of a Toyota 3B engine. I am doing this to ensure that the electrical diesel injection control motor on this engine is receiving a signal that the oil pressure is indeed sufficient to safely operate the engine. I am doing this work to address a coldstart issue with the truck. Given that the electrical diesel injection control or EDIC is operating normally, I am not turning my attention to the glow plugs to see that they are receiving and transmitting sufficient voltage toaid in the assist of starting the truck in cooler temperatures

Good series of videos. Thanks for walking us through your troubleshooting. I came here from a different angle - while rewiring by BJ42 I cut one t many wires out, and now my EDIC has no relay connection. So i am just slowly educational myself on the inner working of this subsystem before I put it back together

Thanks for the vid! I have a BJ60 and I'm slowly going through the engine manual trying to grasp on some of the stranger 3b systems, and having visuals like this is very helpful. How did it go with cold starts? Ever find something that solved or improved things? I have a 12volt which kinda sucks for where I am in Canada. Anything below 10C and my cruiser sputters and smokes an embarrassing amount. She always starts tho haha. Thinking of putting in a block heater soon.
