For a 97 Avalon, the trunk release is in the glove box, left side. My first Avalon reached 210k before it had an unfortunate run in with a deer. Deer=0 Avalon=0 both totaled. Second Avalon reached 235k before I gave it to a friend. I took that car everywhere!

There is a small hole next to the CD slit, if you use something thin like a paperclip into that tiny hole, I bet the CD gets forced out

"When an Avalon shows up it's usually horrible" When I junked my Avalon it had multiple dents from people hitting me when I threw papers, previously flooded, and anything electronic but the dash and lights didn't work. Guess it fit the stereotype. 265k and still ran great, though!
