Common oil leak on Celica is timing cover gasket. Usually where the power steering 2 main bolts connect. Most blame the tensioner but end up replacing it only to find leak still there. Can be done without taking engine out but very tight. Make sure you torque bolts up on cover to correct specs also. Great project. Would love to see you do any inspection of rear subframe area on Celica.
@AlexTheGrumpyOne2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Yeah you are right they do get a lot of leaks from the rocker cover as well

Dude, this is freakin awesome! There is no in depth content on KZbin for the 7th Gen like you have started here. Definitely looking forward to future episodes, especially the hatch struts replacement, details on the parking brake and cable adjustment, and where that oil leak is coming from. Super excited and thank you for choosing to do a series on this. I have an '02 GT-S (US) and I love it!

Fantastic video! I appreciate how in depth you review elements of the car, I can tell you are experienced and patinate. Few things I'll love to see are: Replacing seized toe and camber bolts, changing fuel filter, replacing anti-roll bar and bushings, coilovers, 2zz maintenance, optimising brakes, replacing radiator, replacing oil pan. There is a complete lack of how-to videos for the gen7 I can't wait to see them from you!

@@AlexTheGrumpyOne can I ask mate, are there clips or retainers or things you need for the front bumper to sit right? @AlexTheGrumpyOne3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Yes there are clips at the bottom that hold it and on the side. I think its mainly the side ones that give up slightly after a while if you been taking it off. When I do my video on the front bumper removal ill try and show that issue for you. My one is not sitting right actually

Nice find, the Celica GTs are getting harder and harder to find in a remotely good condition....most have been either riced out or had the snot beat out of them or just have 8 million miles on them. That bodykit (or ground effects kit....as some call it) and spoiler (I think the wheels too) was part of a cosmetic options package called "Action pack" (at least that's what they called here in Denmark).....in contrary to common belief; they are not aftermarket. They are a typical example of that was trending in the carworld at the time, mainly because of the fast and furious movies....call them "Period corrrect" if you will. :) One thing though: that battery holddown brace is not correct, looks like some cheapo stuff from AliExpress of questionable quality. I still believe you can find the "correct" upgraded TRD ones on ebay somewhere...but I haven't checked.....Also thats the first time I have seen someone replace the rear disk brakes with slotted rotors and not the front ones....interesting...I wonder why they did that? Lastly, please remove that silly tow strap bracket thing ;) ...that stuff is so dumb.
@AlexTheGrumpyOne3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. That is a very helping input :) Yeah i will be removing the tow bracket. Well saying that... i will be removing everything. The question is ehat is going back on haha. Yeah the mileage is the only issue for me and a bit of rust there. But everything else can be sorted by me.
