It's a Toyota Mark II Tourer V. It shares the same chassis (JZX000) and engine as the Chaser and Cresta, but each has a different body and different names for their base model trims (Mark II being Grande, Chaser being Avante and Cresta being SC, Exceed, Super Lucent and Roulant). They all have a Tourer S (non-turbo 1JZ) and Tourer V variant (turbo 1JZ). They get confused a lot. The Mark II is the original so to speak, best of both worlds. The Chaser is it's more performance orientated brother and the Cresta the more luxury orientated.

I always liked the Aristo, I was bummed we didn't get the Turbo but we did get a V8! As an American, I have to appreciate the V8 but nothing beats an I6 Turbo- 2JZ for the win!
@gerarddip Жыл бұрын
Gotta love the 2Jz. The v8 was no joke either, though! The gs400’s 0-60 was faster than any of the other lexuses at the time.

The Tremec T-56 Magnum-F Manual Transmission is available for the Aristo. About the Kit: This kit was designed for the Tremec T56 Magnum-F and includes bell housing of choice, Grannas Racing multi-position offset shifter, chromoly transmission crossmember, bluetooth wiring harness, and all hardware required. Driveshafts and clutches are optional, but recommended to make this an easy bolt-in experience. There is NO CORE charge for our transmission kits. The wiring harness we include makes for a super clean and simple install. But not only that, but it has a bluetooth module with you can play with the settings such as reverse lockout control, and convert and adjust the T56 speed signal to make the factory speedometer work perfectly. No more need to cut down the reverse lockout spring or wire in a manual reverse unlock switch, this will auto unlock reverse under a set MPH (defaults to 4mph)! All of the settings are all adjustable through your smart phone with an app. The stock Tremec Magnum-F is rated at 700 ft lbs of torque. Just for comparison, the Getrag V160 is only rated around 500 ft lbs in stock form. These T56 Magnum transmissions are FREAKISHLY strong and will outlast a V160 at high power levels of these 6-speed transmissions .

Not sure if the mark 2 was originally a Tourer V. Because it has wooden interior instead of the carbon fiber interior, also it has seats from the Tourer V. I think the owner did a engine swapped of the 1jz gte into the Grande grade, swapped the seats but left the the wooden interior. Also, Grande grade comes with grey leathers and Tourer V comes with black leather.

Hydro boost brakes on the aristo are horrible. The turbo and the steering are on the driver side. In America the gs300 has traditional vacuum assist brakes and stop excellent. ABS is in the way of the stock twins when you swap but can be moved an inch out of the way. I believe the heat from the turbo was a concern for the braking system so they put a hydro boost instead of a vacuum assist. I haven’t had a problem. 🎉

Nice you legends doing a aristo i got one my self and the stock aristo brakes suck i got an ls400 brakes swap in the front and supra turbo is also good option

Nice to see these Toyota. They seems to have several parts similar to my ZZE112. Even the 1.6L VVT-i has a lot of torque. The 3.0L must be impressive. Finally the true is out: AT is better for daily drive! MT is great for fun, but now traffic jams are practically occurring every days, driving an electric makes it so much easier.
