Wow , that was a complex issue. Can't see why the battery nut did not have energy, it is attached to the terminal and cable. Doing well, good for you.

Yeah, I have no idea why it didn't work, which is why it took me so long to find. Just always assumed that part was fine. Thanks :)

If you break ground for the victron charging relay. Does it stop working? Asking because i want a manual switch to actually stop it charging in addition to having a switch to reverse the charging flow.

Hi Kenneth, I'm not sure but that is a good idea if it worked. I'd love to have more control over when it is kicking in and the flow of charge. At the moment I just use the circuit breaker under the bus near the starter batteries to turn it on/off and then it just does its thing

I appreciate your videos .......Any chance of a wiring diagram?

This is something that I am currently working on! Will add a comment when it's done 😊

Hi. Thanks for your video. I'm an electro-mechanical engineer but I have to say that I found that all pretty confusing. Especially the wring explanantion from about 5:10 Did you wonder why your leisure battery cables did not get power when connected via the clamp nut, but did when connected to the top of the clamp? I can't see a reason why that should have happened. Did you investigate it or ask anyone. Regards Mark in the UK

Hey, I have no electrical background so did my best to try and explain how it was wired up haha. The descriptors for the pin and battery numbers came from the Cyrix itself. Definitely wondered why it wouldn't get power from the clamp nut, which is why it took me so long to diagnose. I tested everything I could with a voltage tester, starting at the Cyrix and working back, and found that there was no voltage on those connections. We did some googling to find that most photos had any additional connections coming off that top nut, so we took a stab and that fixed the issue. Thanks Shane

It sounds like you say in the video “don’t use a jigsaw on the outside of the bus” but unless I’m mistaken the video looks like you are using a jigsaw?.....I’m confused.
@RoamingonRubber4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I forgot to explain why. I cut it out with a jigsaw but it scratched a big ring around where I was cutting. I had to then spray it with rustguard which is a different shade of white to the rest of the bus. So it worked but had issues. We didn't have access to something better like a multi tool or reciprocating saw

Why can't you use a jigsaw on the outside of the bus?
@RoamingonRubber3 жыл бұрын
When I cut the holes in the bus, I heavily scratched around the hole. So I said not to use a jigsaw. I've since learnt it is the best tool for the job, you just need to be careful to protect the paintwork.
