I had a 2.0 D4D Corolla before. Was a great car. Had its issues - sunroof drains clog up on the T Spirit models. Alternators are a pig of a job on these, the driveshaft has to be pulled to get it out! Mine was a little sooty and burned some oil, about a litre every 3500 miles. Suspect the turbo was a little unhappy. I now own a BMW E39 530d and miss my Corolla. That 5 speed was excellent, and honestly it just felt like a more solid car than the E39.

Yes the alternator is an absolute nightmare…. So is the water pump fuel pump off the lot 😖 I always check sunroof drains cause so many issues. EGR mapped out solves a lot of soot issues

Alrite mate I’ve got the 1:6 sr always wondered do the tinted windows have the sun protection in?or is it’s just a privacy glass ? Can’t find nothing on it cheers

Most standard glass has UV filters built in, but tinted windows definitely block UV

Can be a pain these Cars had mine 8 year over had 3 new Engine Coils few years back. Now got Engine Check Light on again and is the Catalytic Converter.

I no longer have the car, but I’m sure it was low geared somewhere around 1750/2000rpm possibly… don’t quote me on that. Know my mk4 golf 1.9 TDI PD 6 speed sits at 1200rpm at 65mph

It was in the pipeline, but I took a look close up and it’s a bit rough tbh so worth avoiding. Yeah only thing with this car it’s too nice to use as daily / winter runner for the dogs …. ML and ZX go off the road in few months so would only have the Corolla to use…. Can’t face hacking it off lol Thanks for watching as always 👍🏼

That is a cracking purchase . A very rare car. Mine is fairly rare as it is only one of 95 in the UK on the road for its age, spec and colour, but yours has probably just a handful left, if that.

A little Honda CR-Z from 2010 with a 1.5 petrol engine combined with a little electric motor. It's not fast, but it's entertaining to drive as well as getting good mpg, £25 a year VED and being just group 17 insurance.

Aptany Harmonic are best of Chinese tyres Dan. Decent tyres and grip if you ask me. Got full set on my Ford good grip and wear rate.

Yeah dealer prices are absolutely crazy, just make the figures up as they go. Bar trying to source the part numbers and search likes of eBay might be some aftermarket ones

@@CarAddictGarageNE I looked all over. There's no diesel size. Only for petrol so it will be cheaper to downsize than get single part from a dealer. Hope they go bankrupt f scammers.

@martinsrc8752 I would have thought the 1.4 diesel would have exactly the same brakes as the 1.4/1.6 petrol range, can imagine they would have special brakes just for 1.4 diesel. Toyota quite often have the same brakes across the range bar top end stuff like VVTLi and possibly 2.0 diesel
