Toyota FJ Cruiser Cabin air filter replacement/blower motor noise!!

My blower wasn't working or as close to not working , but still able to get a tiny bit .. but was worthless .. Checked that interior filter and sure enough ... Waaaay worse than I would have ever imagined .. Banged it on a large rock to get the bulk out and BAM! Works great ! Many thanks for posting vid ..

That looks easier than I expected - gonna get on that. I like the blinkers and headlights you have. Here in europe I got some heat from police about "american style" orange blinkers.

The air flow is not blowing up through the filter. Air flow is down. If you put the filter in with the arrow pointing up then it's upside down. The ONLY time an arrow on a cabin air filter should point up is if it says up next to the arrow. All horizontally mounted cabin air filters with the blower motor mounted below the filter have downward air flow. Otherwise the blower motor would be full of dirt and debris. If it doesn't say up next to the arrow then the arrow indicates air flow direction and should point down. Still not sure? Then remove the filter and turn on the blower. Then put your hand where the filter goes. Does it feel like it's blowing upward? Use a piece of string or tissue paper. They will be sucked downward. All the Toyota parts that say up on them have nothing to do with air flow. They are simply telling us which side goes up.
