@@phantomwalker8251 Nah. IFS is fine for what he's doing. Sliders will simply protect the rockers and in this video he got quite close to hitting them. That is THE WORST damage that can happen to a body. Trust me.

Ok. Since everyone else likes to give you a little bit of advice here is my two cents. Not a good idea to go out with just one vehicle. Two vehicles at minimum. I run with a good friend all of the time and sometimes three. We have had to rescue people that had broke down on the trail or were just stuck. I run the Arizona desert and no one wants to be stuck in the desert; especially when it gets real hot here. Plus sometimes some of the people you might run into are not so friendly. So keep safe and have fun.

I just bought my first 07 FJ about two weeks ago and have fell in love. These videos are inspiring and I can’t wait to take mine to colorado this June. Have been a little lost on what to do and buy first so focusing on improving suspension and tires and wheels. Ideally drive it as much as possible however really leaning more towards an overland/hybrid build as that represents our current lifestyle. Any pointers would be appreciated, also looking at upgrading to V8 as mine has 300k and I’m not shy about building it how I want even if it’s a complete rebuild. Currently it’s going to Toyota for a once over and will go from there, unfortunately the Toyota place it’s going to doesn’t seem to interested or shares any passion for off-roading. Will see what happens…

Since you live in Canada what kind of rust preventative do you do on your frame? Do you use fluid film or just wash it often in the winter?
@stokedtour3 жыл бұрын
I bought the FJ second hand and it already had the textured rubber stuff that was already sprayed onto the entire frame underneath. As an extra measure I just use fluid film every year and just apply as necessary. It's helped to keep it in great shape. I hope that helps!
