I love it! The '87 FJ60 was the last carbureted Toyota to come to the states. Also the last with manual trans and windows. The only circuit board is the AC control module. This particular one is in astonishing shape.

Next time you're in Salt Lake city, look up the landcruiser heritage museum. It is one of the closest places to heaven I've experienced. It even smells like old toyotas!

One of the best looking 60s I've seen in a while. That front bumper looks very similar to the ARB style bull bar on the front of my Toyotas. Always wanted a 60 myself, for the same reasons Dave said it's really that in between model, still rugged, but with modern updates. Same reason I still want to add a 85 pickup to my collection. Last of the solid axle and first of the fuel injection.

This is my favorite generation Land Cruiser for sure. I follow a page on Facebook where a member had just posted video of his 6.0 LS swapped 60. This look with LS power is perfection. Absolutely love the look of this one, Cameron's right, the proportions on this thing are perfect with those tires. All it needs is the LS!

That is an awesome baja truck, the more i travel deep into trails in the baja peninsula the more my idea of an ideal baja suv changes, the trails get narrow and rocky and that changes every season with the heavy rains and hurricanes, that would be great of remote camping and exploring, good luck with the build, its going to end up better that you tought.

Love the FJ60. I owned one for a while and regret selling it. My was fecal brown color. The 60 was carbureted. The 62 series with the square headlights had EFI.

@@thedirtheadshed I Loved that bug, wish you still had it too . I got my first bug stuck in snow. I used the snow brush to keep the engine running while I got out side and bounced on the back until it worked its way free. I then ran along side, hopped in, and drove off with it.

as an aussie, these are iconic here. caught my attention. the 80 series landcruiser (or lexus lx450) was more popular due to a better engine range and more capable off-road.

We did a LS3 in a 84 FJ60 at JBA. There’s a few pics on my IG feed. It was in the Toyota Tan. Totally unassuming other than the 35s. Kept it quiet with a big Walker muffler. He had it painted after we had it at the SD International Auto Show. Still tan.😂

Love it, if that carb won’t run in the secondaries suspect that specter carb hat I fought the smaller aluminum one for years till I finally figured out that they make a weird air problem

That's a beautiful cruiser!!! Love them! Had a 1991 fj80 in the factory two tone desert dune paint n graphics..such a fun rig but EXPENSIVE parts and hard to find...and 10mpg no matter how I drove it and worse with the 33s on it...wish I had those axles though!!!!!

Aftermarket fuel injection would make that thing way better. Usually I’m against non yota engines in Toyotas, but this works. I want a 60 like this to go with my FZJ80.

sweet truck. so just a quick clarification - the 60 was still carbureted and the 62 brought injection. 60s were a 4-speed here in the US but an H55 5-speed swap is common.

My brother have one with the fancy option of electric windows. It’s bone stock and the engine finally give up after 35 of service, so my brother rebuilt the straight 6 and now is running again and ready for another 35 years more.

Nice old cruiser. I like the old iron. I always liked the FZJ 80s. Didn't they have dual electric lockers? My old school dream vehicle is a 76-80 Jeep Honcho J-truck. I had one, blue, 350 4 barrel 36 inch tires, had to sell when we had our son in 1989. Haven't found one since that isn't a rusty pile.

E lockers on the axles were just an option on the 80's not all of them had it. but the ones that have em are all "triple locked".
