Anyone not buying a Yaris because of Brand Snobbery needs to take a look at Toyota’s past and race history. You really can’t compare this to other Toyotas. It’s a ground up car built in conjunction with the rally team. I bet Toyota aren’t making money on a single one. Considering that they built a bespoke 4WD system, suspension set up and the circuit pack is £3,000 but the circuit pack wheels are £1,600 each.

First of all, I think you did an excellent choice getting this car, and I base that on the words it got from the car reviewers that really like it, I trust them to make an honest review. The tech level is insane here, 4wd, limited slip diffs, good brakes from factory to not mention the price. With the comments and discussions, when you are this kind of open word speaker you can expect some back. There are many tender toes out there and many get stepped on with the straight honest comments. But a word of advice is to maybe alter the feedback to instead mention what can be improved instead of just calling it bad or worse. I have got pretty addicted to the ring and running it, but sofar I haven't got my ass out of the chair yet and actually done it, but for sure it must happen. We'll see next year. Keep it up 👍

Knowing not all of us have millions shows you are down to earth and in touch with reality. When I installed my MK3 FoRS KW 2way Clubsport at Manthey, there was a Porsche GT2 owner next to me. As the Manthey mechanic struggled to remove half my front so he has access to swapping parts, the Porsche was almost fixed. The Swiss Porsche owner came up to me and said “ why didn’t you buy a Porsche, can’t you see how poorly built your RS is?” Valid points of course but this did not change I was not a millionaire like him.

So true my man... the road will end soon for these 400+ hp cars. The first brand to make true lightweight sports car in affordable price range is gonna be golden. I hope for the car market to change but you know, If there is no bad car we will not see the good one... Yaris is a product of all these bad cars... and bad ideas. Love you Rob. I learn from you EVERY TIME.

I am 100% with you, ROBERT! I just specced my STO, really enjoy driving my 997.2GT3RS and yet I am really bummed out about the fact that GR Yaris is not coming to the US. I would’ve been buying that 100%. For now, I’m looking to buy a limited edition civic type R as a substitute. like you said, good cars are good cars. Regardless of the price.

Thank you Robert for your honest impressions. Its a bit of fresh air after seeing SupercarBlondie glorifying the porky new M4 by being paid thousands. Speaking of high performance cars from the Toyota group - if you have 48 minutes to spare for today, I highly recommend you watch Savagegeese's video he uploaded yesterday called "Lexus LFA | A Proper Goodbye" - the channel has a sarcastic, no-bullshit, no-contrived approach in all of their videos and focuses on the sheer technical detail that the engineers have went through to make Toyota's no-compromised sportscar a realisation. Regards from the UK.

Big fan of Savagegeese channel too. Mark and Jack know how to articulate their way of explaining technical details without being the typical Influencer fake-vibe, and they know how to produce a pretty cinematic-like content.

Hey Robert. Took me a while to watch and respond. As you might or might not know I am among the electroheads and I am getting the quickest electric car in b segment soon. yet honestly the yaris is a welcome surprise. An affordable car that is small and powerful. You can easily park yet be quicker than just about anyone. Nobody expected the car to turn out the way it did. I am all for it. The sensation of speed matters more than the speed itself.

As someone currently getting into cars, where the GR Yaris is currently out of reach, I really hope more car manufacturers go this route so I can one day own a fun, relatively cheap car like that.

Love to see a first drive with you and Misha in the Yaris GR. Like the way you think about the bikes. Even with the carbon on the wall the Greyp still has a magnificent purpose...

I think homologation specials is the best thing that happened to the car industry and for enthusiasts. If it is coming back starting with the new WRC rules then I'm all for it. In my opinion, the coolest and best cars out there came out of these regulations. Can't wait to see how this is going to play out in the future and if homologation specials will really return to the car world!

I couldn’t agree more I hope we see a lot more of those. I suspect I have a little bit of concern because some manufacturers are pulling out of motorsport
