how much weight do you think you’ll shave out of the E46, compared to stock?

Yeah nice, I can't wait. Honestly if each video is in the Goldilocks zone of 20 to 30 minutes, I'll watch one every day.

Like the build concept a lot. The kind of car that looks "right" which is very different than "boring", even if its not as attention-grabbing. I don't know enough about what works well on the nurburgring or how to set up an E46 to suggest things, but I would like to hear for a car like this more about the kinematics. What motion ratio do the springs and sway bars have? What spring rate or natural frequency are you running the car at, and what acceleration are you seeing in the corners that requires those rates to properly control the body motions? Are you picking spring/sway bars more for dry track and compensating for the change in surface by adjusting the shocks, or is it the other way around?

Question: what is your take on the sedans? I think these look better in case of the e36 and especially the e90. A huge miss that the e46 never had an m3 version (and from what I understand the e46 sedan is actually stiffer and less prone to the subframe mount problems ) Are you going for the coupe versions for the e36 and e90/92 builds?

where will you put some tasteful M badges?

Love it and can’t wait for the videos! Makes me want to take my own e46 to the carwash too 😅

Looks like an AMAZING build, and already looking forward to the E36........ Has there been any thoughts/progress on making Apex a 'community hub' type place where people can have a beer/coffee and potentially BBQ/car events? Fantastic that you are back, and looking forward to the content. I also reckon on 2 videos a week would be the ideal number, to keep people hooked as at 1 video a week it is potentially 6 months to see the end result.

I still don't understand why you haven't finished the e36 gtr.... You could do the same as with this one without having 2 practically identical cars.
@RobertMitchell13 сағат бұрын
I know it’s hard to keep up on everything but there were issues with them finishing that car so we canceled the deal. It ended up getting sold to a business partner of theirs and I don’t know if it’ll ever be finished or not. Was sad at the time but now I am happy that it went that way as we can build our own with our control, timelines and even mistakes 🤣

Top tier as always. Looks like you’ve lost weight, hope you’re well.

When you talk about the m3 e46 to praise the engine, the chassis etc etc you all forget that there is a better chassis, with better aerodynamics, center of gravity and weight balance, which came out a few years later and had the same engine and same suspension: E86 Z4 Coupé...

Exited for the episodes to come! Sure sounds like fun to take the time and effort to make it perfect for what you want. Will you be running an aftermarket abs system in the car? And are you going into detail on how to get all the systems working together? Idea for the E36(or just my dream): go with a Ferrari 360 V8, just enough power, lighter engine, no weight over the front axle and a hell of a noise at 9000rpm. Would maybe also make for a different drive than the E46?

which E36 were you using on Assetto Corsa? I found lots of E36's drive bad.

Once a week is more than enough for quality content. You want to see it, but you also don't want it to end.

What happened to the E36 M3 build that Schirmer was building for you? The grey one with the gold BBS E88’s? I remember seeing something briefly with you saying that he had the car along time but I remember it was painted, the bodywork was all done and the wheels were mocked up.

Absolutely sick build! I’m a crazy e46 m3 fan, spent hundreds of hours reaserching and building mine in the look for the perfect car! I’ll be at the ring with my M3 in about 2 weeks, I’d love to see this live 😍

So good to see you back, seriously looking forward to the whole series and… who is Tom Stamp?🤔 I’m so over the repetitive same same boring vids of an arrogant individual driving other people’s cars. This is going to be so interesting, informative and, having got to ‘know you’ Robert, a delight to see. Can’t wait.

Erik Eriksson Design does great E36 ramair / brake cooling parts, including ones S54 swapped with Haimus box in E36 M3 chassis. Totally OEM fit and finnish if not better and also durability. Happy to help if so wanted. :)
