For a 7 seater hycross is definitely better than even the safari and all the competition but for a proper rough roader, comfortable 5 seater and tough vehicle i would choose the xuv700 anyday. Opinions might differ but for around 25 to 27 lakhs its still 10 lakhs cheaper than the hycross when u compare the ax5 or ax7 variant.

Excellent comparison review Except the mileage part. The said mileage of XUV 7OO is totally wrong. I own one past one year, MX petrol Manual 5 seater, which is the entry level petrol version. In Bangalore city drive I get between 8 to 9 kmpl with AC ON. On highways if you maintain between 80 to 90 kmph getting 15 to 16 kmpl. Between 100 to 120 kmph speed getting 12.5 kmpl. Between 140 to 160 kmph speed getting 10.5 kmpl. All these are real time mileage figure as per displayed on the console. All are with AC ON full time. Just done with the one year first service, was told that the mileage will improve a little by the service manager. Thanks for stopping by.

As someone from a middle-class background, I would choose the XUV 700 any day. It has almost everything one could ask for, and in terms of affordability, it's the clear choice. Mahindra has incorporated sophisticated features that people don't typically expect from Indian companies. If you have an immense amount of wealth, you could blindly go for the Hycross, but for those with adjustable funds, the XUV is a great option. Although the Innova had its own space in the automobile industry, 700 doesn't have that same level of market recognition. Nevertheless, Mahindra's GDI engine is reliable, and there are enticing diesel options and convenient service options available. Please note that my perspective may differ from yours.

It feels like very biased review. The reviewers comments have prejudice peeking frequently against XUV700 😊.. Thoda genuine effort Maro yaar to compare... E.g., You didn't even try to see what fits in XUV boot and brushed it aside saying 2 mobiles would fit but for Innova you had data 😊 For last row seating, the leg space in Innova is based on how you place middle seats and that's not fair calculation to XUV700. In conclusion, not happy with how you are conducting review, either you are under prepared or biased to begin with 🙏

Obviously it is. Well proven. But launch of XUV 700 impacted its market heavily in last two years. . That's why Toyota has come with Hycross version of Innova. . Still, , being much cheaper than Innova Hycross, , XUV 700 is giving it a tough competition. . One more reason, most of vehicles have shifted to Mono body frame which is way more comfortable and gives less jerks but Innova still laid on Ladder frame. Innova felt thus need of the market and thus came with changes. . . Let see the market now, , who prevails. . Bcoz , , now, , being on top for long for any single vehicle is tough, , almost impossible, as every single car manufacturer is launching highly featured vehicle evry month. . . Xuv 700 have done 0-100 under 10 seconds in few other videos in youtube in petrol automatic as well as diesel automatic The torque in xuv is much higher than hycross so even if car is fully loaded it will be still ease to drive Also in xuv you can gain speed with less effort compared to hycross Fun to drive element comes in handling characteristics of xuv the chasis have high torsional rigidity which can handle speeds very well and also corner much better than hycross All such things make xuv much more fun to drive

Fuel savings of innova hybrid is utter non sense. Instead of paying 10 lakh extra it better to get 1000000/80 = 12500 liters of fuel. Even with avg of 8 this will give 1 lakh km extra on XUV700. Since hycross will also burn some fuel so total extra kms in XUV700 should be around 1.5 lakh kms. So a hycross will only start saving money after 1.5 lakh kms. buying hycross only for Fuel saving is Complete non sense and for people, complaining abt xuv700 low fuel milage, dont forget you saved so much money for better performance SUV(instead of toyota MUV) and in next 10 years you can double that money if invested properly.

Very poor journalistic reporting! The heading declares this video to be a comparison between the XUV 700 & Innova highcross. But apart from reading out the features present in each vehicle, the advantages/convenience factor of the features was simply not attempted! What about the differences in driving dynamics? Which rides better? Which is easier to manuver & park? Which possesses better refinement? Which ones seats are better cushioned? Is there any difference between the throw of the headlights of the two? Why was the comparison being made between the Innova Crysta & the Innova Highcross, when the title of this video clearly declared that this was to be a compare between the xuv 700 & the Innova Highcross? What a let down of a road test review this is!

I have both...xuv far more premium and cheaper...not faced any issue with reliability of xuv ...driven 20000 km....innova is more utilitaria ...if u regularly carry more than 5 passengers then innova....otherwise xuv is far better....another thing...to get better milage u have to buy hybrid version which is 6 lakh extra over normal petrol innova...so to cover the extra cost u have to drive more than 1 lakh kms

Well obvious for 7 passengers or 6 passengers we need some amount of boot space & when we r spending above 20L it should come for long run. Moreover safety & comfortable matters a lot while we driving. in shot way i would say no comparison for Toyota with Mahendra. Innova Hybrid quality is way superior than XUV 700.

Hycross has front wheel drive, poor torque for an 8 seater, less responsive CVT transmission, low fuel economy, unimpressive looks, low service costs, probably decent resale value, great ride comfort. XUV 700 has front wheel/AWD, good torque converter AT, High torque engines, diesel option, looks good, poor cabin insulation/rattling, unreliable electronics/software, high service cost, low resale value

Most of petrol driven SUV gives mileage between 8-12 km highway and 5-7 km city and may be less than 5km in bumper to bumper heavy traffic with AC on. Toyota Hycross and Maruti Invicto cars are same with different badges. Hycross and Invicto are hybrid petrol models, while Mahindra XUV 700 is petrol keeping aside diesel. At any day a petrol car is a leap better to a hybrid petrol car. To acquire Hybrid technology we have to shell out more (extra) money for it. Lets say if Mahindra provides hybrid on its top end petrol model with all its features of Xuv 700 the cost of the vehicle will sky rocket. Now about the mileage does a hybrid gives better fuel efficiency than a petrol car? well.... its a bit complicated. Lets say in a layman terms as long the battery is charged it will give a higher but not fancy mileage compared to petrol car but when the batter gets discharged the fuel efficiency drops. These all depends on your driving and how you regenerate charge to the battery. And do remember the batteries gets charge when the car is only driven. You will have to drive an extra mile to keep the batteries healthy. Now talking about health of the batteries hybrid cars cannot be parked ideal for medium/long duration as I mentioned you will have to drive an extra mile... to keep the batteries healthy/charged. As a hybrid car ages the batteries charge will deplete. So I think Petrol car or in this case XUV 700 has an upper hand will saving those extra dove......but hey no offence for hybrid cars.....its just my two cents.

As we know, a rebadged version of Innova Hycross will be launched by Maruti, by July of this year. I am planning to rather go for the Maruti one, as Toyota has still not listed Hycross through CSD. But on the other hand, Maruti has always been efficient in listing their vehicles through CSD on time. Basically, I would be getting the rebadged one cheaper by 2-3L. So, is it worth to choose the Maruti over Toyota?

Rebadged HyCross will be more expensive when sold by Maruti Suzuki, because the HyCross is Toyota’s product. As already seen with the HyRyder Strong Hybrid vs Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid where the Grand Vitara is the more expensive one because it has Toyota’s Hybrid tech. The same will happen with the Rebadged HyCross when sold by Maruti Suzuki.
