Toyota IQ Window Regulator Replacement

For those of you who want clear instructions for this (I looked at the video and then decided to try myself): Remove the door card (remove the triangle behind the handle and the shiny silver cover to reveal three screws), Pull up to remove the long trim piece on the window side of the door, Unclip the window controls and speaker, Pull away part of the the plastic sheeting on the top and bottom from the door (do not tear it as it prevents moisture), Undo ALL of the bolts on each corner (as seen in the video - all the bolts visible on the door you have to remove), There are small clips on each of the corners, just press the sides in and they will release. Press in the screw parts on the top and bottom and they will come free. The window is attached to the cables using 10mm bolts - if you follow the cables they will be attached by two bolts on the bottom of the window. The window will be able to drop (it cannot fall as there is a polystyrene block preventing it) - you can pull it out at an angle from the top (the trim on the top gives you more space), Remove the window regulator, then put the new one in - the black corner goes on the bottom left on the passenger side, there is only one way of putting this in with the motor mounts facing towards you. Put the window in and guide it towards the screw holes on the cables. Put everything back together! This whole thing took me 20 minutes from start to finish, for all the window regulators I've done, this was the easiest! The video helped.

I enjoy watching your videos. You are a couple of hard working down to earth guys and I wish you both a lot of success. I might be completely wrong but, when you stripped the door down, it looked like you removed the black window winding crossover cables out of the large white plastic bracket on the upper part of the door. But, when you reassembled it, you refitted the door card without putting the crossover cables back into the white plastic bracket. So, if the cables are supposed to be held in the plastic bracket, they might move about and rattle or get caught up with the window as it goes up and down.

I see you put different desig of the regulator, I saw them for same on internet , and I taught they not for iq , but after watching this wideo looks liked they are , so can you tell me is only matter to switch motor in to new design job done ? Is it easy to do ite , I love to do my sef

I have question when you put old motor in to new set do you have to run motor back to its position or I just fit in that's it ?

This is very useful! Please can you confirm what replacement part you ordered for this? My wire has just snapped so have faith the motor is ok but appears I'll need a new regulator. I'm so glad u have done this video as there isn't much out there for Toyota IQs. Thanks. Just to add mine is 2008 model.

Mine doesn't do that. It's intermittently working on either switch, goes up then down, never fully down. It's like a seriously bad child, does nothing you tell it to. Not even as fast. I am thinking it's a new motor needed?
