i just fitted this exact subwoofer on mine like 2 weeks ago, i prefered placing mine behind the drivers seat, powered from the cigarette lighter port. sub draws max 150w, so the 15a fuse on the lighter should be more than fine, also i fused the sub with a 10a fuse that never blew for now.

How bad do those doors rattle now? The weight of your rear speaker mod looks like it will absorb some of the vibration so hopefully it isn't too bad. I tried a similar sub setup and after only a few months I moved it behind the passenger seat and mounted it and the cap to the carpeted wall. Your model is even thinner than mine so it should fit no problem if the door rattle ends up bothering you.

Very good question. Oddly enough i get no rattle, though I have not cranked it up as loud as i can. If i did get rattle i guess I would try to suppress with sticky tape based foam

@@andrewsparey697 If you don't get rattle that is great! The door by the lock buzzed and being right by my ear I couldn't help but hear it. I did try some of that foam tape which did help quite a bit but I was aware of it and could still hear it. If yours is already nonexistent/quiet then that should be more than enough to fix any that may pop up in the future.

Hi Andrew, I was unable to fit the pods as I'm uncomfortable with the seat to far forward, so I've looked at this Kenwood sub previously. Are you happy with it?

I am very happy with it . That said i am not too fussy on bass given the constraints, i will take what i can get

Hey! Bit of an audio-illiterate here, where did you connect the blue/white remote power cable to the car? Can't quite seem to figure it out on my end.
@andrewsparey697 Жыл бұрын
The stereo itself has blue / white remote intake wires. My stereo is a Philips, but Blue and white are industry standard

@@andrewsparey697 That was what I was expecting, but I recently installed a Kenwood DMX5020DABS and it doesn't seem to have one. The hunt continues I suppouse.

@@Rethgore google for a wiring diagram for the model and see if it has one. Failing that there are work arounds . A remote wire is only a power wire at the end of the day. You should be able to connect it to a ignition live. Not a permanent live to the battery or the amp will stay on when your car’s ignition is off and drain your battery

@@andrewsparey697 Absolutely, eyeing the cigarette lighter atm but sent a few questions out, hoping for a more straight forward solution! Cheers for the quick replies btw, got any new MR2 videos coming up?

That poor car is a such a mess 😳 shotty electrical work and wires everywhere. The poor car will end up on fire from the bad electrical work, or at an auction because no one will want it in such terrible shape 😳😳
