@@junetery1926 아 ㅎㅎㅎ스촉에 매니안달면 다른방법으로 잘 제어하는 방법이 있나보내요 ㅎㅎ 엠알은 산소센서없으면 바보되어서 저건 사진찍을때 막혀서 온그대로 찍은거구 설치후에 마개도 빼고 산소센서 달았습니다^^

Wanted to ask you if you've had trouble with passing emissions on your MOT with this manifold? Want to put one on mine as well but I also want to be able to pass emissions. TIA and thanks for the great videos!

I passed emissions no problem. There is a 3rd cat converter in the downpipe so that was sufficient to pass

Hi Andrew, nice video !!! on the bottom u used 2 new gastkets i supposed? do you also need paste or any sealant to prevent leakage or do 2 new gaskets on the bottom and 1 on the head be enought?

Two new gaskets, came with the new pipes, and no silicone 👍🏻

@@andrewsparey697 thanks bro...tomorrow i have new gaskets and want to mount the old pipes... yesterday i removed the internal honeycomb from the precat... so the pipes are a bit rusty. cleaned it thoroughly with a metal brush....because of the old pipes i am doubt some exhaust kit/glue... but you think its not required?

Some people do but I used none and have not had any problems , so I would not use any if i did it again

When I took out the material of the pre cats it lost some low down torque, wonder if your new one has better are air flow than a gutted original,. The gutted chambers are probably to large

Hi Andrew. Did you wrap the manifold after. Do you think it's needed? Also, do you think heat would have helped with removing the manifold nuts?

Nope. I think wrap is a scam. It has an application in keeping heat away from the air filter , but thats not a factor for my car. Wrap will also weaken the welds and make your manifold more brittle so as a default, i am not a fan

Salt and water equals rust, UK cars all go this way, It is a little better in Ireland as we have only start using salt. You got the same manifold as me, Mine is blowing when under heavy acceleration so I removed all the nuts again and it is sitting in my car waiting for a new gasket, I used the 2 toyota ring crush gaskets but the manifold does not have space for them as the contact area is flat so I am going to use the gasket that came with the manifold plus RTV to make the seal.

Hi Chris, did you replace the manifold and have you had any NCT issue with emissions? I removed my precats last September and my 2000 MR-S has now just failed emissions at high idle only. Am going to add dipetane and take it for a few long hard drives before the retest within next 3 weeks.

@@Jimdwyer1 I just sold the car yesterday however, the precats are not necessary to pass, use diptane and make sure the engine is nice and hot when you arrive at the center, if it still does not pass then something else is wrong with the car.

No, only an exhaust manifold gasket. No liquid sealants as i find they perish

ive just replaced my full exhaust with a stainless steel racing exhaust all my rusted bolts i treated with wd40 and left it over night it would of made getting the bolts of way easier !!

Yes, mine smokes. Drive at highway speed for an hour , stop, then start again and i get white smoke 💨

Looks like your new manifold will crack in a month or so. If you don't brace the lower end to the engine like the stock one, the flexing it goes through will crack the thin stainless steel fairly quickly. The header you bought doesn't look like it has any lower mount locations for those brackets.

I only take her on easy cruises , mainly on open roads at mild speed. if she went on a race track youd be proved right very quickly

The precats disintegrate because of oil seeping past the piston rings and contaminating the catalytic material. Yours has started. It will get worse. Keep a close eye on your oil levels. I'm yet to see a 1ZZ that hasn't suffered this issue.

Is it only the pre Jan 2002 cars? I don't know too much about these spiders as more of a muscle car kinda guy but my girl wants one of these and it'd be her daily and I'd rather not have it be destroyed by cats

Yes . Mines a march 2001 so the cats and piston rings had problems. I think the piston rings were fixed in Dec 01 and cat design by Jan 02. 2003 is the best year as A) there is no chance of old engine and exhaust inventory being used and B) they improved the suspension by then and sit 1” lower

Yes. As stated vocally , your pre cats are slowly disintegrating and being sucked into the engine by the VVTI . There are plenty of videos of where that leads - the junk yard

@@andrewsparey697 i better find a shop that'll remove the ceramic for me. I'm not messing with the asbestos they've put on there. I contacted Toyota for a quote for a new manifold and exhaust system. I was quoted $6k just for parts. That's insane.

@@ninjashidan aftermarket manifolds cost about £100 . There are no particulates to inhale if you unbolt the OEM and simply throw it away. It is people who try to bash out the memrane with a hammer and fit the original, emptied manifold for £0 that are risking asbestosis
