Do you think the rear alignment would be slightly affected by taking apart a number of the rear suspension components? Should I get an alignment done now?

It is definitely a good idea to check it. Good shops won't charge you much if at all, when alignment is not needed. Having said that it shouldn't be much off if you used the same part to put it back together.

Will this problem make the vehicle not move? Like not able to move.. i have a 2008 and its either the hub. The hub bearings or the cv axels or the rear differential (yoke) where the cv axels go into. Havent figured that out. The cv axels are spinning the drive shaft spins the engine and transmission are absolutely fine. So.... the block where the cv axels go into is now covered in oil. I know my hubs are bad not too bad but they will need to be replaced soon. So. Can this make the vehicle not move on its own? Maybe the u joint? To you what does this sounds like?

Front wheels are supposed to be engaged all the time and move the vehicle, rear diff engages on demand.

hey so I just have a question, its kind of a lengthy one I got into an accident with my Toyota rav4 2012, and the point of impact was the back left passenger door and tire, the tire got like bent into the car, and I think the axle got damaged. How much would estimate for repairs, cuz insurance says its totaled but I wanna buy it back and repair it

Hi! General rule of thumb is that you can get it fixed for half the price of what insurance estimated. The tricky part can be any structural damage/repair that will require body integrity inspection that must be passed to register the vehicle.

I got a 2008 RAV4 AWD that needs remove, replace rear differential seals, axle seals and differential vent. The garage I go to in Burlington, VT is charging me $670.15 US. Is that a fair price? (5 hours of labor = $564.35)

Hello. Can you clarify if this is a 2WD or 4WD RAV? I was recently told by a shop my axle seals need to be replaced because they have condensation. I have a 2WD and do not think mine has rear axle seals?? I am not a mechanic haha, so could be totally off in this

This was 4wd. If you have 2wd or fwd you will still have 2 axle seals at the front. Condensation is not a big problem, but just a first sign of seal getting old.

Can someone please confirm to remove the t oil shaft seal where rear axle gets inserted into the rear differential (it's 4WD), we don't have to take apart the rear differential or any major parts.

Seals are usually around $30 each, same is 1l of fluid.
