When you want to replace an original rear wheel bearing assembly, it will be stuck on tight even after you remove bolts. You can pull it out from axel mount though with a few dollars of bolts, hex nuts and washers from hardware store. This was done on my 2007 Yaris. It is similar on most cars. Your mount bolts may bolt on from the outside or the back, but using the physics of bolt threads and power from a single rachet wrench, you can pull the old assembly without resorting to a big pull hammer or trying to use a sledge hammer.
You will need a breaker bar or an impact driver to get the bolts out. I applied antisieze grease to bolts when mounting new assembly. In my case, the bolts were tightened and torqued to 45 ft-lbs. So a torque wrench is a good thing to have.
