Last year I did a search for a better jack for my built and lifted GX460. I didn't want to carry a Hi-Lift, so I looked at bottle jacks. I did find one that would go 24" (Baoshishan, for those interested), but then I checked the factory Toyota jack and it goes over 19", and I wouldn't have to carry an extra jack and worry about it leaking as you mentioned in the video. So I bought a couple of extension products such as from Land Cruiser Product to augment the capacity of the factory jack and all is good
@bavardage8 ай бұрын
@stevecarlson2346 Land Cruiser Product says their "medium" jack adapter is out of stock. However, out of curiosity, does this adapter fit (cradle) your _frame_ rail? It doesn't seem like it would from LCP's pictures. Cradling the rear axle, though, should be no problem ... It would seem being able to spread out the lifting forces across a larger surface area would be advantageous from a pressure viewpoint, so I'm wondering if there are any other companies that might offer adapters for our stock jack ...
@stevecarlson23468 ай бұрын
I was mostly thinking of the axle for the LCP adapter.

Well, I have the same Takeuchi jack you describe, which was brand new and realised it comes with a comprehensive tool kit too and just tried it on my boat/trailer and it worked beautifully. As you say it’s 1 to 1 gearing so needs a little muscle, but it still lifted it. I put it against my 10 tonne Kinchrome bottle jack, and it’s higher too, but so much lighter. Thank you, I’ve ditched my bottle jack to my garage.
