For those who left negative comments, your ignorance is great. AMCI is an independent company. It tests similar models as they come stocked from the factory. If you don't like the results, go buy a less safe vehicle. That is your choice, but the facts are the facts. It seems toyota in this case builds the better vehicle.

Anyone who drives in winter already knows you shouldn't put your gas pedal through the floorboard when starting on ice or snow, AWD or not.

Hey we put snow tires on a AWD vehicle and compared it to others with their stock all-seasons. All Hail Toyota!

Verdict is the Sienna handles well beyond how any sane person should drive a mini van in normal winter conditions lol. I guess the hockey mom late for practice should have no problem.

Awd doesn't make you stop better. Did all vans have snow tires?

+Tommy, You moron! AWD have all wheels connected to the drivetrain thus gives better control of the Anti-Skid system which also regulates the Braking system. AWD will matter as the powertrain will work together with the brakes in absorbing kinetic energy. Obviously the Sienna has a better drivetrain setup and programming than the Jeep. DO you get it now you dumbass!!

+Blitz4000 - You should do some more research before you call someone a moron... Yes... AWD cars/trucks/SUV perform better on snow. However, if an AWD vehicle has summer or all season tires on, a FWD vehicle with snow or winter tires on, they will out brake, out run, and out corner an AWD with all season tires. I agree with Tommy that all the vehicles tested need to have the same tires or the tires that was equipped off the showroom to have a better comparison.

Daniel Nguyen You're the one who needs to do some research. AMCI will not risk being sued by giving the Sienna the tire advantage. It would be trickery if they did that. All test vehicles including the Sienna are using "stock" all season tires. To even question the tires used is idiotic because AMCI is a legitimate entity and aims in giving a fair comparisons.

+Blitz4000 Before you call people names, you should look at reviews and I'm giving you a review right now. I have a Toyota Sienna Limited AWD a 2015 model. I have had to bring it to the body shop 4 TIMES to get it repaired, because the AWD shortens out an breaks. I also have a Grand Cherokee SRT8 AWD and its a 2013 model year. I have never had a problem with the way the AWD functions. Both cars have All Season tires. The video is BS.

"Simon Yue" No One is trying to Nail Honda. There is no van on the market with AWD system. Tires are all seasons from the factory! Like Honda or Chrysler. "Izz Muhmoodullah" Regarding stopping! Yes you are correct however you missing the point. Weight distribution/Brake system etc. not the same in every vehicle.

Haters GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONA HATE! Sienna is the ONLY minivan to offer AWD, so it is the obvious choice for people in The Snow Belt. Adding the off-road legendary Jeep Grand Cherokee only reinforces Sienna's greatness
@4x4gear335 жыл бұрын
The Sienna's greatness is all that great if knew anything about Toyota AWD vs Jeeps Quadra-Drive II 4x4 System. The Jeeps 4WD system is more capable over Toyota's AWD system. This test was done on OEM tires from two different companies. In this test the Sienna had better tires which gave it the advantage. Put the same tires on both vehicle and everything would change. In this case the Jeep would have pulled a head faster leaving the Sienna behind.

I can only tell you all that my Sienna, without AWD, moves very well in very icy Midwest conditions where other vehicles slip and slide. My old 2007 Corolla I owned for years before was the worst and most terrible winter car ever. Every time you stopped, it just didn't move. Odyssey is probably not good, in many independent tests, like this one, Sienna gets more praise in every aspect than Honda. I have also heard about transmission problems on Odyssey. True or not, it just proves that Honda should improve their vehicles. Toyota reliability is still on the top ( I have owned and driven German, French etc vehicles) so I think I am pretty good in determining what is good and what is junk. And people, last, there is no "sudden acceleration" where cars get their own minds... Just lousy drivers.
@BravoUnit111210 жыл бұрын
Im sorry but this is BS. The factors of stoping is not dependant on AWD.

There's something really fishy about these AMCI tests. The Toyota product doesn't only beat the competition, they clobber them. It is just very unlikely that this sort of massive advantage is not found by other publications.
@simonyue122410 жыл бұрын
This is stupid. Toyota just keeps trying to nail Honda. "The Sienna reached 50mph in 7.3 while the Odyssey did it in 17.5" What about the Chrysler? What about tires, do they all have the same tires? Also if Honda was actually smart enough, they would implement the Acura division's SH-AWD.

+Simon Yue Honda should put the AWD of the '16 pilot on the next gen Odyssey.

AMCI is notorious for being paid to rig the tests in the favor of the highest bidder. An AWD Sienna with SNOW/WINTER/STUDDED TIRES vs a FWD Odyssey, FWD Town & Country AND a Jeep Grand Cherokee ALL with stock all season tires. How is that a fair test? I call BS.
@Sepirek19 жыл бұрын
These tests says nothing about tires. If the test should have any value, all the cars should be driven on the same type tires. Then it is a real competition about the cars. Otherwise, it's a tyre-test.
