I am helping my daughter put a head gasket in her ford escape and I was stiff the entire next day!

Your still a hell of a mechanic. I just did the front valve cover on my 04 es330 and took me 3 hours cause I have lower back problems. But prior to me getting hit in 2022 I did knock sensors valve covers on a past vehicle I owned 00 es300 and never had lower back problems. It sucks. lol. But gotta push through Over winter break I’ll do the knock sensors and back valve cover probably will take me 2-4 days. Cause I won’t be able to lean over for long.

I have been dreading this repair but a few things of my research. 1. Replace the back spark plugs and coil packs with denso brand while you do this, these have a life of 150-200k so if never been done, do it now. 2. Clean the throttle body while apart. 3. Replace the heater hose by the knock sensors and clamps, due to a possible future coolant leak.

What size bolt for the knock sensors? And do you need a swivel socket to remove?

If I have a p0328 knock sensor 1 code do I need to do the same process or is sensor 1 easier?

Really good video I may have to do a job on one of these in the near future. How many times did the car cut you while doing thus job? Ouch. Every time I get cut working on a car it just makes me work that much harder to get the job done faster and more efficiently. With all of the work needed for removing the intake, it is probably makes sense to just replace both sensors at the same while you are at it, to save any future head aches. Great video man!

Can you provide a list or at least description of all the new gaskets you replaced. Would be much appreciated!
@RobsFixitShop Жыл бұрын
I used a Fel-Pro intake manifold gasket set. Also, the rubber rings around the injectors seemed kind of hard and loose. I ordered what I thought was a replacement set but ended up being wrong so I just went with the old. I put the link to the gasket set in the video description.
