Hey Steve! Looking to get a 2024 Toyota XLE Sienna... Is there a way to power off the back latch so we can open and close it manually? I am a musician and need to open the back hatch many times a day to load gear in and out. Having it be electronic is highly annoying.

Best video out there for sienna owners with door problems! I have 22 XLE sienna, the PBD doesn’t open. It does open sometimes if I push down on it when pushing the button but rarely and now it doesn’t open at all. It beeps and I hear the clicking and the pneumatics kick in to check the seal of the door but just won’t open. It’s like the reserve of when it won’t close. I turned off and on all the electronic settings, kick sensor etc, nothing. This started few weeks ago the day after I had my rear windshield replaced due to break in. Any ideas? I’m just out of warranty 37k miles😂

Ok got it checked at dealership it’s a bigger issue, the entire hatchback was out of alignment, most likely damage from the break in and is being handled by Insurance and body shop. Thanks for your videos and thanks for your quick responses!!!

Hey Steve… is there a way I can open the sliding door of my 2021 Toyota Sienna LE model without putting the car on park. That is when it is in gear. I could disable it on my 2011 Toyota Sienna.

Do the sliding doors and back door have sensors in case a pet or child get in the way when its closing.? I put my hand in front of the side sliding door and it does not stop until it makes contact with my hand and then I had to use some force to get it to stop. I turned off the automatic door switch and I could no way open or close the doors manually. I have a 2021 Seinna Limited. I inherited this vehicle and will have to trade it in for something else if I have to worry about one of my three little dogs or my grandchildren getting crushed in the automatic doors. Please tell me there is a way to prevent this....thank you

It's safe. It will unlock then open as long as you have the key within 3 feet

Hi Steven, There're a few owner of the 2021 Sienna on chat Sienna chat forum mention that when the side door left open for long period of time like over 1 hour, the power function does not work when closing. You have the close it manually like to reset it for it to work again. Can you give it a try and see if this is true and if it's true why? The rear hatch works fine if left open for long period. Is there a setting for this or something? Thinking of situation like when camping and left the doors open to unload or loading. Thanks
